Bridie?

What do you think of the name?

I personally know someone with this name and she is lovely so it doesn’t put me off. I know in [name_f]Scotland[/name_f] it is the name for a pie and is also known as a nn for [name_f]Bridget[/name_f] and variations of that name; again this doesn’t bother me.

I like the meaning and like its sound with my children’s names.
[name_m]Just[/name_m] wondered what other people’s opinions are of the name and if you have ever met a [name_f]Bridie[/name_f].

I really like [name_f]Bridie[/name_f] I’ve never met one personally but it’s got such a happy sound to it.

I dislike [name_f]Bridie[/name_f]. It sounds slightly middle-aged and moany. I like [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] as a nn though. That could work well for [name_f]Bridget[/name_f].

[name_f]Birdie[/name_f] has extra special meaning to my parents and me, with the loss of my mom, it is even more so. I personally would only use it as a middle name or nickname. It is very sweet and I picture a girl/woman that is kind, loving, and caring.

Sorry, I read it as Birdie. I have Birdie currently on my mind. Bridie is new to me. I am unsure how I feel.

I actually know of two ladies named [name_f]Bridie[/name_f], one is probably about 24-25 now, and is from Australia, the other is from [name_f]Ireland[/name_f], and is about 21-22, I think? I adore the name [name_f]Bridie[/name_f], and [name_f]Bridie[/name_f]-[name_u]Leigh[/name_u], if I’m honest!

I don’t know the name! It’s cute, but it reminds me of a horse’s bridle. I would just use [name_f]Bridget[/name_f] and call her [name_f]Bridie[/name_f].

It reminds me of the Australian actress [name_f]Bridie[/name_f] [name_u]Carter[/name_u], who’s the only one I’ve ever “known” with that name :). I like it! The only downside (to me) is that people might easily misread or misspell it as “birdie.”

Same! I love [name_f]Bridie[/name_f] [name_u]Carter[/name_u] so I think that’s part of why I approve of [name_f]Bridie[/name_f] as a name. It sounds like a cool girl name (imo)

I’ve only known one as a nn to [name_f]Bridget[/name_f]. A cool lady and a cool, unusual name or nn, the downside is she does get called “[name_f]Birdie[/name_f]” a lot.

I thought you had said [name_f]Birdie[/name_f]… and there is my problem with this name.

Bookish and Candyinne I used to watch Mcleods daughters it made me like the name [name_f]Bridie[/name_f] more.

The girl I know called [name_f]Bridie[/name_f] is 30 now and we used to call her all sorts of nn, some not even relating to her actual name!
I can see why people would look and think it says [name_f]Birdie[/name_f].

I know someone in their early twenties called [name_f]Bridie[/name_f], so it sounds very familiar to me.
