Brilliant?! or Tragic? :-/

I have thought of a name that I like all the individual pieces of but I feel I’m worried that there is one glaring problem with it.

[name_f]Lyra[/name_f] [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] [name_f]Cate[/name_f] H.

The [name_f]Cate[/name_f] part is after my mother and I: [name_f]Cathy[/name_f] and [name_f]Caitlin[/name_f].

[name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] is sort of a family name–my husband’s grandmother’s cousin, who was like a sister to her, since she was an only child. I also like the “rose” part for a woman named [name_f]Rosa[/name_f] who was like a surrogate grandparent to me, and “mary” is my best friend’s middle name.

The glaring problem is that both [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] and [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] are double-barrel type names so to string them together might sound odd. What do you think? I feel like people will have strong emotions about a name like this–either love it or hate it.

Another idea I had was [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_f]Cate[/name_f], which I like a lot, but it’s a mouthful.
Argh. I don’t know.

I love it  [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] is a stunning name and the combination of the names flows beautifully

First off, I love [name_f]Lyra[/name_f]! It’s one of my favourites. I also really like both your [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] combinations, but slightly prefer [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_f]Cate[/name_f]. However, it’s obvious that having [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] as a middle has way more significance, and it’s a really lovely combo. I definitely didn’t see the [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] and [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] thing, although that may be because the [name_f]Mary[/name_f] in [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] comes out more like [name_f]Marie[/name_f] when I say it. Anyway I think [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] [name_f]Cate[/name_f] is a brilliant combo, which is made even better by the fact it’s so important to you.

I read the first sentence of your post and wondered what the issue was. I gave up and read on. I didn’t see or hear the [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] issue at all. I would definitely go with [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] [name_f]Cate[/name_f] H. You really can’t lose with a name that has so much meaning to you. As you and your mom get older, it will have even more meaning to you.

[name_f]Lyra[/name_f] [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] [name_f]Cate[/name_f] is lovely!

I find [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] [name_f]Cate[/name_f] absolutely beautiful:)

I do like [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] but all sentimental things taken into consideration, I’d follow your heart and go with [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] [name_f]Cate[/name_f].

The [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Cate[/name_f] issue was not evident or bothersome to me at all.

[name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] [name_f]Cate[/name_f] is fabulous! [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] is completely not my style.

You are definitely over-thinking things.

[name_f]Lyra[/name_f] [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] [name_f]Cate[/name_f] is gorgeous! The fact that is honors so many people in your life makes it even better!

It works, and it is way better than using [name_f]Persephone[/name_f], if you ask me.

I think you’re overthinking things. Either name is fine, but [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_f]Cate[/name_f] is gorgeous! I don’t get why people worry about length–if the flow works and the name is beautiful, the more of it, the better!

I love both combinations, but I think [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] [name_f]Cate[/name_f] flows a bit better.
