alas sounds to me like a cross between a brisket of beef and [name_m]Frisco[/name_m]. It is displeasing to me.
[name_m]Broderick[/name_m] is fine. Maybe [name_m]Brody[/name_m] as a nickname?
Perhaps [name_u]Roscoe[/name_u] or [name_m]Rocco[/name_m] as an alternative to Briscoe??
