Briscoe vs Roscoe as brother to Oskar?

A few things. First, I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_u]Roscoe[/name_u] but am worried that the “osk” sound is too similar to [name_m]Oskar[/name_m]. I’m liking Briscoe as a possible alternative.

Would you go with the Briscoe or Brisco spelling? Would you use the name at all? The middle name would be [name_m]Lloyd[/name_m] (family name).

Does Briscoe fit with the rest of my boys: Cowen, [name_m]Eli[/name_m], and [name_m]Oskar[/name_m]? I go for mischievous, fun, masculine sounding names (at least, that’s the vibe I get). Is Briscoe too matchy-matchy with the rest of the boys??

([name_f]My[/name_f] girls are named in an entirely different style so it doesn’t really matter how their names fit in. If the next one is a girl she will be [name_f]Lavinia[/name_f] [name_f]Mildred[/name_f], most likely.)

Could I get away with [name_u]Roscoe[/name_u]? I just [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] IT!! (Sorry for shouting.)

[name_f]Do[/name_f] you have any other name suggestions that give off the same sort of [name_m]Huckleberry[/name_m] feel?

Thanks in advance!!

I think Briscoe and [name_u]Roscoe[/name_u] are both equally like [name_m]Oskar[/name_m], so go with [name_u]Roscoe[/name_u] if it is your favorite. I personally think they are too close.

[name_m]Felix[/name_m]
[name_m]Hugo[/name_m]
[name_m]Ferdinand[/name_m]
[name_m]Caspar[/name_m]
[name_m]Finnegan[/name_m]
[name_m]Otto[/name_m]
[name_u]Arlo[/name_u]
[name_m]Magnus[/name_m]
[name_m]Hector[/name_m]
[name_m]Linus[/name_m]

I’m sorry, but in my opinion, [name_u]Roscoe[/name_u] and [name_m]Oskar[/name_m] are much too similar. Briscoe and Cowen share the Co sound which is a bit matchy. They’re cute names though!

I think Briscoe and [name_u]Roscoe[/name_u] are both too similar to your boys (Briscoe with Cowen/[name_u]Roscoe[/name_u] with [name_m]Oskar[/name_m]). I prefer [name_u]Roscoe[/name_u] to Briscoe myself but if I had three sons named Cowen, [name_m]Eli[/name_m] and [name_m]Oskar[/name_m], I would keep looking. I like lerenard’s suggestions of [name_m]Felix[/name_m], [name_m]Hugo[/name_m], [name_m]Otto[/name_m], [name_u]Arlo[/name_u] and [name_m]Magnus[/name_m]. Here are some other suggestions.

[name_u]Sawyer[/name_u] (if you don’t mind the shared “r” ending with [name_m]Oskar[/name_m])
[name_m]Virgil[/name_m]
[name_m]Rufus[/name_m]
[name_u]Destry[/name_u]
[name_m]Harlan[/name_m] (if you don’t mind the shared “n” with Cowen)
[name_m]Wyatt[/name_m]
[name_m]Harvey[/name_m]
[name_m]Barnaby[/name_m]
[name_m]Gulliver[/name_m]
[name_m]Miles[/name_m]/[name_m]Milo[/name_m]
[name_m]Lennox[/name_m]
[name_m]Ansel[/name_m]
[name_m]Rafferty[/name_m]
[name_m]Fletcher[/name_m]
[name_m]Bayard[/name_m]
[name_m]Prescott[/name_m]
[name_m]Bennett[/name_m]
[name_m]Merrick[/name_m]
[name_u]Winslow[/name_u]
