I have been really liking [name_m]Brodie[/name_m] (spelt like that) for a girl. [name_m]How[/name_m] do you guys feel about it??
Ps. It means ‘little ridge’ in Scottish rather than son of anything.

Its really cute…
I knew a girl called [name_m]Brodie[/name_m] growing up, and was totally unaware that its generally used for boys until I joined this site. It’s a lovely name, and worked very well for her.
I like it! I’m pretty sure there was an Aussie actress called [name_m]Brodie[/name_m].
I don’t like that it has -bro- in it, and the fact that there are so many similar names for girls you could be choosing, it seems a little unnecessary.
[name_f]Birdie[/name_f], [name_f]Bridie[/name_f] and [name_f]Briar[/name_f] all come to mind.
It’s fine. I’d prefer to see it spelled the traditional way, but I don’t see anything wrong or out of place with it.
I know two female [name_m]Brodie[/name_m]'s one of them is in her late 20’s and my sisters teacher and the other is around my age. I’m not a big fan of the name on either gender but I think it works fine on a girl.
It would not be my choice but think it is fine for a girl. I picture a little tomboy climbing trees and scraping her knees.
I too knew a girl called [name_m]Brodie[/name_m] growing up and always assumed it was a girls name because I knew no different. I say that speaks volumes!
Detest it on a girl.
Dislike, sorry. It seems too masculine to me.
I really don’t like [name_m]Brodie[/name_m] on a girl…or a boy. It’s very masculine since it has “bro” in it.
It’s just ok. It’s not really my style for either gender. If you like it though go for it!
Boys name.
I think it sounds ugly for a girl but lovely for a boy.
In my opinion the only truly unisex names are words. Any others are like telling your kid they were born the wrong gender
I think it’s cute for a girl!
It’s not feminine, if you ask me, even with that spelling. I’ve know two boys, one [name_m]Brody[/name_m] (short for [name_m]Broderick[/name_m]) and one [name_m]Brodie[/name_m]. I can’t get over the “bro” in the name. That puts it over-the-top masculine for me. Sorry but I can’t picture it.
Can’t edit my post but I wanna add that it’s not my least favorite boy-name-on-a-girl name, just not one I’d consider. I feel that it’s not my style more than I feel it’s a bad name.
I completely agree!
