In a world of weird names, I never wanted my child to join in, but we recently started a family tree and discovered that my husband’s father’s name ([name_u]Roscoe[/name_u]) is actually a name that was passed down over about 6 generations. While we aren’t keen on naming our children directly after relatives, one of the Roscoes way back in the line went by Bronc. My husband loves it, while I lean more toward classic names and my current favorite is [name_m]Nolan[/name_m]. I may be able to convince him of [name_m]Nolan[/name_m] Bronc but we may end up calling him Bronc, is that too “out there”?
Also, any other combinations with the first or middle name Bronc?
No, I actually quite like Bronc, though I think I prefer it as a middle as you say. [name_m]Nolan[/name_m] Bronc is OK, but a bit surnamey for me. I think you want to use a definite “first name” first:
While it is kind of cool and given that it’s a family name you’re not doing it for trendy reasons I would still prefer it as a middle. I’d think people would confuse it often with [name_m]Bronx[/name_m] depending on where you live.
I wonder how you would pronounce Bronc? Like [name_m]Bronx[/name_m] but with less X? I actually prefer [name_u]Roscoe[/name_u]. Either way, I’d definitely keep it in the middle!
However I agree with pp’s. I’d expect Bronc to be confused for [name_m]Bronx[/name_m] a lot or a typo of [name_m]Brock[/name_m].
I also wonder if people are going to think you meant to go for a yooneek spelling on [name_m]Bronx[/name_m]. (especially since the x and c keys are right next to each other on the key each other).
I however think [name_m]Nolan[/name_m] Bronc is pretty cool.
I think it’d make a fine middle name, but I’d hesitate to use it as a first name for same reasons listed above.
My immediate first thoughts were of the [name_m]Bronx[/name_m] or a bull.
