what do you think of this name i love it, but not sure if its too popular?
I think its a common name here in NZ, where are you from? It can be unisex theres a male radio host here.
I like it a lot too. It is on our list for our baby due in [name]May[/name]. I think it is somewhat popular, I have met two little [name]Brookes[/name] (under the age of 3) in the last year (I live in Oregon). I don’t really think of it being a unisex name, but I do know of one boy named [name]Brooks[/name]. I think the best thing about [name]Brooke[/name] is that is such a great nature name but it is also well established as a “real” name too.
The one thing I worry about with [name]Brooke[/name] is that it is one sylable, which some people think is too short. I think that people will want to say [name]Brook[/name]-ee or [name]Brooklyn[/name] or [name]Brooke[/name] [name]Bee[/name] or something. There is a [name]Brooke[/name] in my son’s little music class and that is what I have heard the teacher and her mother do. If we use [name]Brooke[/name] I am afraid to hear what my [name]MIL[/name] does to the name, she has an annoying nickname for my son. I guess I will just have to tell her to stop if it is bad enough! I digress, [name]Brooke[/name] is a great name, it makes me think of a meandering stream going through moss covered rocks. Seems like a great name for a girl living in Oregon!
I forgot- I asked the mother of the [name]Brooke[/name] in my son’s class if she has met any other [name]Brookes[/name]. She said that she has not met any others, but did hear of one baby named [name]Brooke[/name] in her very extended family.
