Thoughts on [name_m]Brooks[/name_m]. The interesting thing is that I do not like [name_u]Brook[/name_u]/[name_u]Brooke[/name_u] on either sex but love [name_m]Brooks[/name_m] on a boy. I wonder if too many people would hear [name_u]Brook[/name_u]/[name_u]Brooke[/name_u]. Not sure that would be an issue enough to not use it. I have to correct people on the spelling of my name all the time and the spelling and pronunciation of my son’s. And we have average, familiar names.
I’m not a fan of it myself, though I know a man with the name. It suits him and as far as I know, he’s never been confused for a [name_u]Brook[/name_u]. I considered [name_m]Espen[/name_m] for awhile. So I like it well enough. Reminds me of ESPer.
[name_f]Love[/name_f] [name_m]Brooks[/name_m]. I think it is a great name.
I have never heard of [name_m]Espen[/name_m], it is quite nice but may get confused with [name_u]Aspen[/name_u]?
I love [name_m]Brooks[/name_m]! It is very handsome and I like names with a connection to nature. I just commented on your post for [name_u]Gray[/name_u] [name_u]Everett[/name_u]-- I think we have similar taste in boys’ names.
However, I can’t personally get on board with [name_m]Espen[/name_m] because I watch a lot of sports news on ESPN and as a kid that was my phonetic pronunciation of the channel. I also think it could potentially be heard as [name_u]Aspen[/name_u].
I also love [name_m]Brooks[/name_m]! I do wonder what people will shorten it to, because inevitably, it will get shortened. So you might want to think through a nn other than “[name_u]Brook[/name_u].”
