We are considering using [name_m]Marshall[/name_m] for our next boy. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you think this goes with [name_m]Arthur[/name_m]? We like classic names. Also would love suggestions on middle names.

I think [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] and [name_m]Marshall[/name_m] are a tad matchy, but not so much so that it doesn’t work. The -ar sound is just a very strong component of both names. But really I think they fit nicely. They’re both classic, understated, handsome names!

Thanks for the input! I hadn’t really noticed the strong -AR sound in both names. Not sure if that’s a deal breaker for me. My hubby is super picky on names so I think I’d rather have slightly matchy names than start at square 1 and look for another one haha. I think we are fairly settled on [name_m]Marshall[/name_m] [name_m]Andrew[/name_m] for a boy or [name_f]Mavis[/name_f] [name_f]Anne[/name_f] for a girl. And no, we aren’t intentionally doing an MA theme ”

My son would love us forever if we named his brother [name_u]Percy[/name_u] bevause he’s currently obsessed with [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] the train haha!

I think [name_m]Marshall[/name_m] [name_m]Andrew[/name_m] is a great brother to [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u]! Seriously handsome sibset. I also don’t really see an issue with the repeating “AR” sound because they’re used differently in each name.

Also, I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_f]Mavis[/name_f]! Like…love her. She needs a comeback, and I think the classic [name_f]Anne[/name_f] fits well.

Wow thank you! I love [name_f]Mavis[/name_f] too but am a little worried it isn’t going to be well received. But we had the same worries about [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] and haven’t had any issues so I’m sure it’ll be fine.
