Brother for Augustus- We're stuck

I just found out the sex of my second (and most likely last baby) and it’s a boy! I already have a son named [name_m]Augustus[/name_m] nicknamed [name_u]Gus[/name_u] which. I’m slightly heartbroken I’m not getting to use my girl name [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_u]James[/name_u] after my mother who passed and my husband as well as his father. I was seriously in love with that name.

Boys names I feel meh about. Right now these are what we like

[name_m]Theodore[/name_m]- our top pick so far. We almost named our first son [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] but worry its become too popular.
[name_m]Oliver[/name_m]
[name_u]Elliot[/name_u]
[name_m]Malcolm[/name_m]

We aren’t totally in love with any of these. Suggestions?

[name_u]Elliot[/name_u] is my favorite, followed by [name_m]Theodore[/name_m].

I hate to see you lose an honor name you love. Perhaps you could find a way to honor [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] and/or [name_u]James[/name_u] in a boy’s name. [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] [name_u]James[/name_u] is not far off. [name_u]Elias[/name_u], [name_u]Ellery[/name_u], [name_u]Ellis[/name_u], [name_m]Leo[/name_m], [name_m]Leon[/name_m], [name_m]Leonard[/name_m], [name_m]Leonardo[/name_m], [name_m]Leonidas[/name_m] and [name_u]Jameson[/name_u] are other options. I quite like the sound of [name_m]Leonardo[/name_m] ([name_m]Leo[/name_m]) with [name_m]Augustus[/name_m] ([name_u]Gus[/name_u]).

Other ideas:

[name_m]Bennett[/name_m]
[name_m]Byron[/name_m]
[name_u]Dorian[/name_u]
[name_m]Evander[/name_m]
[name_m]Frederick[/name_m]
[name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] ([name_m]Gabe[/name_m])
[name_m]Lucian[/name_m] ([name_m]Luc[/name_m])
[name_m]Maxwell[/name_m] ([name_u]Max[/name_u])
[name_m]Nolan[/name_m]
[name_u]Tristan[/name_u]

I like [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] the best, followed by [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m].

As ceryle pointed out, [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] would be a good way to honor [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], and it sounds good with your son’s name as well. Concerning [name_m]Theodore[/name_m], I think you should at least keep it on your list. It’s not super popular, and there are nickname options that can help combat that. Another thing to consider is that while [name_m]Augustus[/name_m] isn’t popular, similar [name_u]August[/name_u] is, so it’s not like [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] would be completely different in popularity.

[name_m]Leopold[/name_m] ([name_m]Leo[/name_m])
[name_m]Ezekiel[/name_m] ([name_m]Zeke[/name_m])
[name_m]Malachi[/name_m] ([name_u]Kai[/name_u], [name_u]Mal[/name_u])
[name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] ([name_m]Nate[/name_m], [name_u]Nat[/name_u])
[name_m]Harold[/name_m] ([name_m]Hal[/name_m], [name_m]Harry[/name_m])
[name_m]Jeremiah[/name_m] ([name_m]Jer[/name_m])
[name_m]Jedidiah[/name_m] ([name_m]Jed[/name_m], [name_m]Jedi[/name_m])
[name_m]Archibald[/name_m] ([name_m]Archie[/name_m])
[name_m]Clifford[/name_m] ([name_m]Cliff[/name_m], [name_m]Ford[/name_m])

Hmm, [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] is getting popular and it is better to find a name you adore if you can

[name_m]Frederick[/name_m] ([name_m]Fred[/name_m], [name_u]Freddie[/name_u], [name_m]Fox[/name_m]) < any of these would be adorable with Gus
