My husband and I just found out we’re expecting another little boy in the spring and we are struggling for names, so any help you all could offer would be much appreciated! We have a few preferences:
Name must be outside of the current Top 100 Names: I have a less common name ([name_f]Hope[/name_f]) and I liked not being one of three people with the same name. My husband, on the other hand, has a very common name ([name_u]Michael[/name_u]) and at any given gathering he is ultimately one of three [name_u]Michael[/name_u]'s there. Our rule of thumb is that if the name is outside the Top 100 then chances are baby is safe from being one of many with the same name.
Classic over trendy: While I can get behind a trend, my husband struggles to follow. Names that go off the beaten path, like [name_u]Arlo[/name_u] or [name_m]Maverick[/name_m], while wonderful names, are a bit too much for him.
Nothing “cowboy-esque”: What I appreciated about our first son’s name, [name_u]Beau[/name_u], was it’s classic and nostalgic nature. Unfortunately, some people draw cowboy or western connotations from it, which really isn’t my jam. Names like [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] or [name_m]Brooks[/name_m] are lovely, but when paired with [name_u]Beau[/name_u] they can feel a little too country-western for my liking.
Alliteration is a plus: While it is not necessary, I have always been partial to alliteration. Our last name starts with a C, so a name that meets all the above preferences and starts with a C would be a winner for me.
My current front runners are [name_u]Casey[/name_u], [name_m]Forest[/name_m], [name_m]Declan[/name_m], and [name_u]Everett[/name_u], but those last too are getting a little too close to the Top 100 for my comfort.
It’s so hard to find that perfect mix between classic, not popular yet familiar! I have a [name_m]Declan[/name_m] (nn. [name_m]Dex[/name_m]) and can attest to the fact that it is rising in popularity
My suggestion for you would be [name_m]Cain[/name_m].
It has the C that you wanted and its short and sweet like [name_u]Beau[/name_u]. It also has a classic feel being a biblical name, yet it fits right in with all the current trendy names that will be his classmates!
[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps, good luck!
[name_m]Declan[/name_m] & Everetts popularity are quite high this year
First thing that came to mind was [name_m]Calix[/name_m]/[name_m]Callum[/name_m]/[name_m]Calvin[/name_m] “[name_u]Cal[/name_u]” were the first things that came to mind

Other suggestions I thought of:
[name_u]Corey[/name_u]/[name_u]Cory[/name_u]
[name_m]Callum[/name_m]
[name_m]Grant[/name_m]
[name_m]Ivan[/name_m]
[name_u]Darren[/name_u]
I have a [name_u]Beau[/name_u] in my family - his brothers are [name_m]Andrew[/name_m] and [name_u]Cody[/name_u] (their initials are AJ, BJ, and CJ, oldest to youngest), but I suspect neither of those quite fit the bill for you. I really like both [name_m]Declan[/name_m] and [name_u]Everett[/name_u], but they’re at #101 and #95 for 2018, and I suspect that they’re only going to rise further.
I’m a fan of [name_u]Beau[/name_u] & [name_u]Remy[/name_u] together as brothers and I like that they share the same number of letters and [name_m]French[/name_m] influence.
[name_u]Beau[/name_u] & [name_m]Caspian[/name_m] also make a very dashing pair if you want to go with a C name.
