brother for colin and lizzie

hi everyone. Been lurking a while but not posted, but we are expecting our third child in a few months. We have two kids, [name_m]Colin[/name_m] who is 10 and [name_f]Lizzie[/name_f] who is 6. [name_f]Lizzie[/name_f] is formally [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] but I’m the only person who really calls her [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] and that is only occasionally.

We do not know the gender so I’ll be posting in the girls section at some point too, but I have a strong feeling it’s a boy.

We like [name_u]Evan[/name_u], which is a family name on my husbands side, but is it a little close to [name_m]Colin[/name_m] or are we just overthinking that? It does sound very different,I think it’s just the -n endings which is tricking us into thinking its close.

We also like:
[name_m]Joseph[/name_m]
[name_m]Oliver[/name_m]
[name_u]Max[/name_u]
[name_m]Ethan[/name_m]
[name_u]Elliot[/name_u] (or [name_u]Elliott[/name_u]? unsure on which spelling is more common)
[name_m]Henry[/name_m]
[name_u]Noah[/name_u]

But nothing is standing out, other than [name_u]Evan[/name_u] which we both adore but just a little unsure.

Any suggestions? We like a range of names, we don’t really have one style in particular which we like more.

Thanks a lot!

I think [name_u]Evan[/name_u] is fine. It only shares the same ending with one of your children so it doesn’t look like a “pattern”. To think it’s more important to choose a name that you love over one that is perfect alongside his siblings, and really it is fine. I say go for it!

I like [name_u]Evan[/name_u] too. It isn’t trendy (neither are your other children’s names) but has the sounds of an on-trend name. [name_m]Colin[/name_m] and [name_u]Evan[/name_u] both end in N but have entirely different sounds. [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] and [name_u]Evan[/name_u] both start with E but also sound entirely different. [name_u]Evan[/name_u] almost connects your other two kids’ names! I like it.

I don’t think it’s too similar and it does connect with both names as the above poster mentioned. Personally, I don’t love it with [name_m]Colin[/name_m] & [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f]. I think [name_m]Colin[/name_m], [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] & [name_m]Henry[/name_m] are perfect and I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_m]Henry[/name_m] (as well as [name_m]Colin[/name_m]). [name_m]Ethan[/name_m] and [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] are also a great fit. [name_m]Colin[/name_m] and [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] ([name_f]Lizzie[/name_f]) feel very classic to me, as does [name_m]Henry[/name_m].
