We already have a solid list, but I love getting other ideas. [name_f]My[/name_f] df isn’t any fun and doesn’t want to talk about names anymore since we’ve already agreed LOL We plan on having 2 more children, with an italian last name ending in “ee”
What would you name a brother for [name_m]Donovan[/name_m] and [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f]? (We use 2 middle names, if you want to include suggestions, though we try to use family names)
I usually try to stay away from names that end in -n, as I feel like they run together with [name_m]Donovan[/name_m] (for example, [name_m]Donovon[/name_m] and [name_m]Julian[/name_m])
I don’t usually like common names, [name_m]Donovan[/name_m] was a compromise name for sure, while [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f], I named on my own.
With your surname and children’s names, I will avoid suggestions ending in “n”, “ee” and “a”. I don’t know how you would define the word “common” as that term is very subjective.
[name_m]Alaric[/name_m] is my #1 name, but my boyfriend isn’t a fan. So sad. I will not give up though! If we have 2 more boys, I will push HARD for this to be that third boy name. lol
[name_u]Everett[/name_u] was one of my top choices with my ex. I still like it a lot, but it reminds me of him so that’s out.
[name_m]Vincent[/name_m] was also a very top contender, for a long time actually, but then someone pointed out the similarity between [name_m]Don[/name_m]-o-vin and vin-cent and killed it for me as a first name. [name_m]Vincent[/name_m] will be the 2nd middle name for our next boy
[name_m]Alasdair[/name_m], [name_m]Tobias[/name_m], [name_m]Leander[/name_m], [name_m]Malachi[/name_m], [name_m]Mattias[/name_m], and [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] are all on my long list. [name_m]Alasdair[/name_m] was my favorite for the longest time. It’s still pretty up there, but I don’t think my bf would go for it. He kinda liked [name_m]Leander[/name_m].
I like [name_m]Edmund[/name_m] but given that I have a DD [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f], it’s out. [name_m]Edmund[/name_m] was the antagonist in [name_m]King[/name_m] Lear (where I got her name), and sentenced [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] to death. So while I like the sound for a sibset… the [name_m]Shakespeare[/name_m] connection is out.
A few I’ll ruminate on: [name_m]Luther[/name_m], [name_m]Griffith[/name_m] (though I think [name_u]Andy[/name_u] [name_m]Griffith[/name_m] kills that one for me), [name_m]Emmanuel[/name_m], & [name_m]Thaddeus[/name_m].
