[name_u]Dexter[/name_u] or [name_m]Henry[/name_m]? I love how unheard dexter is and love the nn [name_m]Dex[/name_m] but fear it’s going to be associated with a killer.
[name_m]Henry[/name_m]: I love how classic it is but it is ridiculously overused.
Thoughts or other names appreciated!
With [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] I like [name_m]Henry[/name_m] best. I can see the appeal of [name_u]Dexter[/name_u] but I have to admit the first thing I thought when I read it was the TV show.
[name_m]Henry[/name_m] and [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] are just so beautiful together. I’m not a huge fan of dexter, it sounds quite harsh to me.
Are there any other names you like?
I love [name_f]Nora[/name_f]! I think both names work really well. I think all depends on the “feel” you are going for. [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] and [name_m]Henry[/name_m] feels very classic and beautiful. [name_f]Nora[/name_f] and [name_u]Dexter[/name_u] feels more vintage chic. While I really adore [name_m]Henry[/name_m], I think [name_f]Nora[/name_f] and [name_m]Dex[/name_m] makes a great sib set! I have never even seen that show, so I don’t think of that when I hear [name_u]Dexter[/name_u].
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] and [name_m]Henry[/name_m] sound perfect together.
If you really like [name_m]Henry[/name_m], don’t worry that it is overused 
Definitely [name_m]Henry[/name_m]. It has that vintage appeal to it that goes well with [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f].
I love [name_m]Henry[/name_m]! It is popular, but ridiculously so? I’ve not met a [name_m]Henry[/name_m] yet under the age of 50. Plus, I think [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] and [name_m]Henry[/name_m] are just meant for each other (that may come from my love of [name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_u]Austen[/name_u], though–I love [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] and [name_m]Henry[/name_m] Tilney!).
[name_f]Love[/name_f] [name_m]Henry[/name_m], not a fan of [name_u]Dexter[/name_u]. I think [name_m]Henry[/name_m] and [name_f]Nora[/name_f] sound great together! I’ve only ever met one [name_m]Henry[/name_m] in my life (as a 22 year old) and so I definitely don’t think it’s over used.
I totally understand your thought about [name_m]Henry[/name_m] being overused. I worry about that when researching names because I don’t want my child to be [name_m]Henry[/name_m] A., you know? However, there might be other Dexters as well. You just don’t know. Go with the one that feels right. [name_f]Eleanor/name_f and [name_u]Dexter/name_u or [name_m]Henry[/name_m] sound great. [name_m]Both[/name_m] pairs have a lot of charm, it’s kind of hard to pick a favorite. I’m loving [name_u]Dexter[/name_u] and [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] honestly more.
I wouldn’t worry about associations with [name_u]Dexter[/name_u], they’ll fade if any are there. I always think of my cousin(26) with the name, not the show.
