[name]Hi[/name] Berries, I am a long time lurker and love reading the forums, but I need some help. We had no trouble naming our girls and had a girls named lined up for this baby, but have found out we are having a boy, and just can’t find a name we love.
Our top 2 currently are:
[name]Tobin[/name]
[name]Asher[/name]
…but neither of these really stands out for me.
We have considered, but ruled out (for a variety of reasons):
[name]Theodore[/name]
[name]Truman[/name]
[name]Rafferty[/name]
[name]Everett[/name] (although this might be a mn contender)
I prefer traditional names, but not those that are hugely popular (although both our girls names have crept up hugely since they were born 4 and 5 years ago!) I feel like I have read every boys name list out there and just can’t find the right name. Any ideas would be hugely appreciated!
I would pay attention to the initials of your children: Naming your son anything that starts with D or L would results in your childrens initials spelling Die or Lie. I just wanted to bring it to your attention.
Thanks for your suggestions. I’m not worried about their combined initials, we would use them in order of birth if that was ever the case, so it would be E, I…
I like [name]Thatcher[/name] on your suggestions and [name]Prescott[/name] is quite nice as well.
I have the added disadvantage of being a teacher, so many names are out by association. We don’t want any names that start with J and we have a long hypenated last name starting with G-M.
Thanks margrocks, I like [name]Felix[/name] and [name]Archie[/name] but DH isn’t keen.
[name]Tobias[/name] could be an option. I’m worried that [name]Tobin[/name] and [name]Imogen[/name] have quite similar ending sounds, although people I have tested it out on disagree. alzora I like [name]Wesley[/name] on your list but we have a little friend with that name already.
I’ve never had much luck with finding a boys name that I really love, nothing just leaps out at me like it has done with girl names.
