I don’t know I’m definitely having a boy, but I have a long list of girls names that I love. I just totally struggle with boys names.
Daughter is [name]Francesca[/name] [name]Rose[/name]. I am half Italian, but married to a [name]Brit[/name] with a british surname, so not Italian surname. It doesn’t have to be an Italian boys name but it would need to work quite well in Italian. The problem is I think it can sound quite pretentious, potentially (but that might be me over-thinking!).
I also have a ridiculously fussy OH!
Things I think I like so far include:
[name]Enzo[/name]
[name]Quinn[/name] (not Italian at all!)
[name]Alexander[/name]
[name]Lucas[/name] (although quite popular in the UK now)
[name]Milo[/name]
[name]Cole[/name]
[name]Joseph[/name]
Favourites from your list are [name]Enzo[/name], [name]Alexander[/name] and [name]Lucas[/name]. Although, only [name]Enzo[/name] is Italian, which is fine if you’re not dead set on carrying on the Italian theme. Here are some Italian suggestions that could have English nicknames:
~ [name]Alexius[/name] ([name]Alex[/name])
~ [name]Antonio[/name] (Ant, [name]Tony[/name])
~ [name]Benjamino[/name] ([name]Ben[/name])
~ [name]Gregorio[/name] ([name]Greg[/name])
~ [name]Leonardo[/name] ([name]Leo[/name])
~ [name]Matteo[/name] ([name]Matt[/name])
~ [name]Maximo[/name] ([name]Max[/name])
~ [name]Roberto[/name] ([name]Rob[/name])
I love [name]Lucas[/name], even though it is very popular everywhere right now. I think the fact that it works in multiple languages is part of the appeal. [name]Lucas[/name] with a British last name would probably cut down on the “pretentiousness” you say you hear when you have a very Italian name with the ln.
[name]Luca[/name] is a very good alternative that is a little less popular.
Discussed [name]Lucas[/name]/[name]Luca[/name] with DH last night and he was not keen at all. No reasons, just flat no. Hmm! So I’ve asked him to come up with a list of his own!
