Brother for Gemma due in < 2wks. Help!

Husband and I have not been able to agree on anything for baby boy due in less than 2 weeks. Daughter is [name_f]Gemma[/name_f], and we have an Italian last name. I personally love the idea of something Italian-inspired (not required though), but since we are Italian by name only, we don’t want a name as Italian as [name_m]Giovanni[/name_m], [name_m]Leonardo[/name_m], etc. Also wanting to avoid names in the top 25. In general, we want something familiar but not too common. The one thing we can agree on…we’d really love to use the middle name [name_u]Lee[/name_u]. Help appreciated!

[name_f]Gemma[/name_f] is a wonderful name for your criteria. Boys’ names that hit a similar note to me:

[name_u]Luca[/name_u]
[name_u]Rocco[/name_u]
[name_m]Marco[/name_m]
[name_m]Carlo[/name_m]
[name_u]Nico[/name_u]
[name_m]Teo[/name_m]
[name_u]Enzo[/name_u]

Also, for Italian-inspired: [name_m]Roman[/name_m] or [name_u]Milan[/name_u] could work beautifully.

I’ll add [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] and [name_m]Vincent[/name_m], too.

Not sure about popularity (and whether it’s popularity in [name_f]Italy[/name_f] or your home country that matters) - but how about:

[name_m]Massimo[/name_m] (nn Massi)
[name_m]Matteo[/name_m]
[name_m]Elio[/name_m]
Raphael/Rafael (as above, Rafe/Raffa)
[name_m]Marco[/name_m]
[name_m]Alessio[/name_m]
[name_u]Luca[/name_u]
[name_u]Nico[/name_u]
[name_m]Aurelio[/name_m]
[name_m]Dominic[/name_m]
[name_m]Felix[/name_m]
[name_u]Leo[/name_u]
[name_m]Tobias[/name_m]
[name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] (Greek but Latin origins)
[name_m]Carlo[/name_m]
[name_u]Walter[/name_u]
[name_m]Hugo[/name_m]
[name_m]Emilio[/name_m]
[name_m]Oscar[/name_m]
[name_m]Orlando[/name_m] (maybe too much but is Italian despite thinking it was Spanish)

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps! :tulip:

I love the suggestions above of [name_m]Carlo[/name_m]. Perhaps slightly tongue-twisty with [name_u]Lee[/name_u], but not bad, Italian but with [name_u]Arlo[/name_u] being popular it doesn’t feel like a stress or TOO Italian?

Also love the suggestions of [name_u]Enzo[/name_u] (in fact I think that’s my favourite: short, sweet, good with [name_u]Lee[/name_u], not a stretch from Ezra), and [name_m]Orlando[/name_m].

Maybe also Aflonso as one to think about? I know it sounds pretty out there, but I actually know a wee boy called this (not in [name_f]Italy[/name_f] and no Italian heritage) and nickname options like Alf/Alfie or Fonz/Fonzie are cute.

I second [name_u]Rocco[/name_u]!

[name_u]Love[/name_u] the following already suggested:

[name_m]Vincent[/name_m]
[name_m]Dominic[/name_m]
[name_u]Francis[/name_u]

As someone who doesn’t speak Italian or have any connection or knowledge of the culture, names ending in O have an Italian feel to me to me, though they may be of a completely different origin. Perhaps these could fit what you are looking for? However if you last name ends with O, this may not work for you. I like:

[name_m]Miro[/name_m]
[name_m]Arno[/name_m]
[name_m]Lauro[/name_m]
[name_u]Marlo[/name_u]
[name_u]Roscoe[/name_u]
[name_u]Cato[/name_u]
[name_m]Celso[/name_m] (I love the Italian Chel-so pronunciation)
[name_m]Dario[/name_m]
[name_m]Draco[/name_m]
[name_u]Enzo[/name_u]
[name_u]Gio[/name_u]
[name_m]Geo[/name_m]
[name_m]Hugo[/name_m]
[name_m]Ivo[/name_m]
[name_m]Jaco[/name_m]
[name_m]Jago[/name_m]
[name_u]Kairo[/name_u]
[name_m]Risto[/name_m]
[name_m]Tullio[/name_m]

Keeping them two syllables helps them sound coherent with [name_f]Gemma[/name_f], I think?

Some other names I came across when looking for the above that I like with [name_f]Gemma[/name_f]:

[name_m]Acer[/name_m], [name_u]Asa[/name_u], [name_u]Amari[/name_u], [name_m]Ambrose[/name_m]
[name_u]Bowen[/name_u], [name_m]Brodie[/name_m]
[name_m]Conrad[/name_m], [name_m]Cosmin[/name_m]
[name_u]Easton[/name_u]
[name_u]Grayson[/name_u]
[name_u]Hollis[/name_u]
[name_u]Jensen[/name_u], [name_u]Jonah[/name_u], [name_m]Joshua[/name_m]
Kitson, [name_m]Kester[/name_m]
[name_u]Monty[/name_u]
[name_m]Ramone[/name_m]

[name_m]Cosmo[/name_m] was a fave of mine, but husband nixed. Haven’t even heard of the rest though! Thanks!

I like a lot of the -o ones! I think they work since our last name ends with -i. Nice flow.

[name_m]Brodie[/name_m] was another fave of mine that husband nixed. [name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_m]Ramone[/name_m] (!!), but have a close family member named [name_m]Roman[/name_m], so that could get tongue-twisty.
