Hello we are 2 weeks for due date for baby boy #3 and I’m looking for any input.
Current kiddos are:
Merrick Alexander
Bennett Allen
Both have first names we liked and middle names that are family names.
It’s been really hard to come up with boys names this go around. First of all,!we know so many more kids now and many names seem “taken”. Plus, it’s harder to find a name that “goes” with our other two.
Some ideas are:
Logan- DH and kids really like this one, I like it but am concerned it’s really popular. No good nickname
Wesley- love the nn Wes and think the name fits well. DH not a huge fan.
Jonah- we both like it, but stylistically different?
For middle names I want to honor a family member:
Need to use the name Richard, a name starting with R, or A
Richard would be most meaningful but not a huge fan of that name.
Love Reid as an R honor name…
[name_u]Jonah[/name_u] is a little different from [name_m]Merrick[/name_m] and [name_u]Bennett[/name_u] but i say if you like it use it!! it’s a great name!
other ideas:
[name_m]Pierce[/name_m]
[name_m]Harvey[/name_m]
[name_m]Lachlan[/name_m]
[name_m]Wells[/name_m], [name_m]Warner[/name_m], or [name_u]Wyatt[/name_u] (substitute for Wesley)
[name_m]Vance[/name_m]
[name_u]Callum[/name_u]
[name_u]Everett[/name_u]
[name_m]Quinton[/name_m]
[name_u]Crimson[/name_u]
You and I have very similar taste I have a [name_u]Bennett[/name_u] [name_m]William[/name_m], and [name_u]Reid[/name_u], [name_u]Merritt[/name_u] (close enough…), and [name_u]Wesley[/name_u] are all on my short list if we have another boy! I personally loooove [name_u]Wesley[/name_u], and it would be my top choice, but I will never be able to use it, as I have a brother [name_m]Weston[/name_m].
(I also would personally go with [name_u]Reid[/name_u] over [name_m]Richard[/name_m], but I think with family honor names you have to go with what feels right for the honoree.)
Here are some other names on my list:
[name_u]Hayes[/name_u]
[name_m]Dashiell[/name_m]
[name_u]Callahan[/name_u]
[name_m]Lawson[/name_m]
[name_u]Easton[/name_u]
I love both [name_u]Jonah[/name_u] and [name_u]Wesley[/name_u] ! And [name_m]Richard[/name_m] and [name_u]Reid[/name_u] seem like amazing middles.
Could a [name_m]Wes[/name_m] alternative sway your partner; Westney, [name_m]Weston[/name_m], [name_m]Wesson[/name_m], [name_f]Wellesley[/name_f]
[name_f]My[/name_f] favourite combo is [name_u]Jonah[/name_u] [name_u]Reid[/name_u] and [name_u]Wesley[/name_u] [name_m]Richard[/name_m]
Other names I think you might like are
[name_m]Rhodes[/name_m]
[name_u]Royce[/name_u]
[name_m]Kimball[/name_m]
[name_m]Dawson[/name_m]
[name_u]Hayes[/name_u]
[name_u]Archer[/name_u]
[name_m]Otis[/name_m]
[name_m]Gage[/name_m]
[name_u]Donnelly[/name_u]
[name_m]Harrison[/name_m]
[name_m]Nash[/name_m]
[name_m]Ledger[/name_m]
Logan-Meh, not my cup of tea. It’s way popular & not popular in a classic way like [name_u]James[/name_u] or [name_u]Benjamin[/name_u]. It just feels trendy, you know? Not as charming as [name_m]Merrick[/name_m] & [name_u]Bennett[/name_u].
Wesley-I like it. [name_m]Wes[/name_m] is super cute & [name_u]Wesley[/name_u] is handsome & smart & does go well w/your crew.
Jonah-If you both like it, this seems like the clear winner. And it’s my favorite too. It’s really sweet & warm but handsome & manly & sort of outdoorsy. It’s sort of popular, but not as much as [name_u]Logan[/name_u] & feels more special. I don’t think that it doesn’t fit w/your boys’ names. [name_u]Jonah[/name_u] [name_u]Reid[/name_u] or [name_u]Jonah[/name_u] [name_m]Richard[/name_m] would be great. I like [name_u]Jonah[/name_u] [name_u]River[/name_u], [name_u]Jonah[/name_u] [name_m]Rider[/name_m], [name_u]Jonah[/name_u] [name_u]Reilly[/name_u], [name_u]Jonah[/name_u] [name_m]Rafael[/name_m] too.
[name_f]My[/name_f] DH doesn’t like [name_u]Reid[/name_u] as a first. [name_m]Jonas[/name_m] is nice, doesn’t flow as well with our LN “Lawrence” IMO
Thanks!!
I like [name_u]Wesley[/name_u] and similar variation for you, and also [name_u]Jonah[/name_u]. [name_u]Curran[/name_u] doesn’t do a whole lot for me; it reminds me of curry and the Koran. But it’s certainly not terrible.
I, too, had a [name_m]Richard[/name_m] to honor. I also don’t care for the name, but we kept it in tact to make the honor more explicit, and I’m glad we did.
Curran L@wrence doesn’t flow brilliantly to me, the two names share quite a lot of sounds, but it’s an interesting name with the right vibe! Maybe you’d like Conran, Callan or Callahan?
