My BFF is expecting #3, gender TBD. (See also post in girl’s forum if interested.) Sisters are [name_f]Olive[/name_f] [name_u]Skye[/name_u] and [name_f]Coral[/name_f] [name_f]Fiona[/name_f]. Looking for a name that flows well with this sibset. The only criteria is that part of the name would preferably be of Scottish origin to honor his father’s heritage.
While [name_f]Olive[/name_f] and [name_f]Coral[/name_f] both have color names, this was not done intentionally and there is no need to stick to that “pattern.” My BFF is a free spirit and often likes name that have vintage appeal and/or are nature-based.
The current front-runner name is [name_u]MacLaren[/name_u] [name_m]Archie[/name_m] with the nn “[name_m]Mac[/name_m].” Both names have deeply significant meaning for the family; however, they are willing to consider other options.
Throw me your ideas! I will share this link with her.
[name_f]Olive[/name_f], [name_f]Coral[/name_f], and [name_m]Tad[/name_m]
[name_f]Olive[/name_f], [name_f]Coral[/name_f], and [name_m]Hart[/name_m]
[name_f]Olive[/name_f], [name_f]Coral[/name_f], and [name_m]Moss[/name_m]
[name_f]Olive[/name_f], [name_f]Coral[/name_f], and [name_m]Heath[/name_m]
[name_f]Olive[/name_f], [name_f]Coral[/name_f], and [name_m]Vaughn[/name_m]
[name_f]Olive[/name_f], [name_f]Coral[/name_f], and [name_u]Rafe[/name_u]
[name_f]Olive[/name_f], [name_f]Coral[/name_f], and [name_m]Flint[/name_m]
[name_f]Olive[/name_f], [name_f]Coral[/name_f], and [name_u]Reid[/name_u]
[name_f]Olive[/name_f], [name_f]Coral[/name_f], and [name_u]Sinclair[/name_u]
[name_f]Olive[/name_f], [name_f]Coral[/name_f], and [name_u]Tate[/name_u]
[name_f]Olive[/name_f], [name_f]Coral[/name_f], and [name_m]Hale[/name_m]
I like [name_u]MacLaren[/name_u] but I wouldn’t capitalize the “L” – to me that’s too confusing and complicated. And I think [name_u]Maclaren[/name_u] looks better and more streamlined. Other ideas-
I really like MacLaren and I’ll also suggest a name with a nod to the Scottish. Tweed! It’s a river in Scotland making it a nature name, and the name of fabric woven in Scotland. Maybe…
[name_f]Olive[/name_f], [name_f]Coral[/name_f], and [name_m]Julian[/name_m] Mclaren:) Actually, something with five letters and an L would be perfect - [name_m]Valor[/name_m]? [name_m]Valor[/name_m] Mclaren would be cool!
[name_m]Nolan[/name_m]
[name_m]Lance[/name_m]
[name_m]Roland[/name_m]
[name_u]Flynn[/name_u]
[name_u]Perrin[/name_u] (that is not five letters nor does it have an l, but I think it’s so cute!)
[name_u]Blake[/name_u]
[name_u]Hollis[/name_u]
[name_m]Clark[/name_m]
[name_m]Tavish[/name_m] (again, rule-breaker but how great is [name_m]Tavish[/name_m] [name_u]Maclaren[/name_u]!)
[name_m]Clive[/name_m]
[name_u]Elias[/name_u]
[name_u]Elliott[/name_u]
[name_u]Lucca[/name_u]
[name_m]Palmer[/name_m]
[name_m]Declan[/name_m]
Can I just say that [name_f]Coral[/name_f] is one of my all time favorite names. It’s beautiful, quirky, and vintage, all around a winner.
Keeping with the Scottish theme
Alpin- It has a nice compact feel to it, and like [name_f]Olive[/name_f], and [name_f]Coral[/name_f] is off the beaten path, but not a lot. An added bonus is that Alpin means “white” which would keep the color tradition up, but not in an obvious way. Two kings of the Picts (native Scottish Tribe) had this name. ETA: Also this has five letters and an L!
[name_m]Boyd[/name_m]- Like [name_u]MacLaren[/name_u] is a Scottish surname. Is very undersued as a name, but feels strong and fresh.
[name_m]Conall[/name_m]- Again it’s different, but not too different. With a strong meaning “Strong [name_m]Wolf[/name_m]”. I can see [name_m]Conall[/name_m] fitting in well with [name_f]Coral[/name_f] and [name_f]Olive[/name_f].
[name_m]Malcolm[/name_m]- Very vintage, and regal.
Lastly [name_u]Wallace[/name_u]- nn [name_u]Wally[/name_u].
i’m writing from scotland right now (yes, it’s raining outside), and I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] the suggestion [name_m]Arran[/name_m], such a beautiful name (and place).
It would match his sister’s skye (another beautiful isle). [name_u]MacLaren[/name_u] is a bit much for a first name in my opinion, while [name_m]Archie[/name_m] is quite lovely with his sisters’ names. Maybe [name_m]Archer[/name_m] as a full name? [name_m]Archer[/name_m] [name_u]Maclaren[/name_u] sounds pretty awesome. And they can still use [name_m]Mac[/name_m].
