Need some help coming up with boy names to match [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] [name_f]Leona[/name_f].
Husband loves [name_m]Jack[/name_m], but it might be too popular for me and rhymes with our [name_m]Mac[/name_m]- last name, which I am not crazy about. [name_m]Jack[/name_m] [name_m]Mac[/name_m]-
Any ideas for good match for [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] or possibly a middle for [name_m]Jack[/name_m] that could sway me to like it?
Some [name_m]Jack[/name_m] combos I love…

[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] and [name_m]Frederick[/name_m]
[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] and [name_m]Dashiell[/name_m] (I like [name_m]Dashiell[/name_m] [name_m]Jack[/name_m])
[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] and [name_m]Edward[/name_m]
[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] and [name_m]Jackson[/name_m] (Can still call him [name_m]Jack[/name_m])
[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] and [name_u]Emmett[/name_u]
[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] and [name_u]Everett[/name_u]
[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] and [name_m]Maximus[/name_m]
[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] and [name_u]Sullivan[/name_u]
[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] and [name_m]Donovan[/name_m]

[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] and [name_m]Oscar[/name_m]
[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] and [name_m]Hugo[/name_m]
[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] and [name_u]Dean[/name_u]

[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] and [name_m]Henry[/name_m]
[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] and [name_u]Finn[/name_u]
To me, [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] [name_f]Leona[/name_f] is very classy but still a little quirky, so I think her brother may be:
[name_m]Declan[/name_m] [name_m]Oliver[/name_m]
[name_u]Elliott[/name_u] [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m]
[name_m]Ford[/name_m] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m]
[name_u]Hudson[/name_u] [name_u]Gray[/name_u]
[name_m]Lincoln[/name_m] [name_m]Andrew[/name_m]
[name_u]Luca[/name_u] [name_m]Matthew[/name_m]
[name_m]Nolan[/name_m] [name_m]Jack[/name_m]
[name_m]Oliver[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u]
[name_m]Quentin[/name_m] [name_m]Daniel[/name_m]
[name_u]Rowan[/name_u] [name_m]Fletcher[/name_m]
[name_u]Rhys[/name_u] [name_m]Lysander[/name_m]
[name_u]Theo[/name_u] [name_m]Samuel[/name_m]
[name_u]Tristan[/name_u] [name_m]William[/name_m]
[name_m]Vance[/name_m] [name_m]Julian[/name_m]
[name_m]Winston[/name_m] [name_m]Clark[/name_m]
Of course, [name_m]Jack[/name_m] can be in the middle spot for any of these, but [name_m]Nolan[/name_m] [name_m]Jack[/name_m] is definitely my favorite combo with it in that spot.
I like the feel of longer names mcarolina listed, they all seem to flow, match nicely and look balanced. But none stand out. I do like [name_u]Emmett[/name_u]/[name_u]Everett[/name_u] but two names ending -ett would tongue tie me and be too matchy. I knew a few [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] toddlers that went by Sebbie, which I found adorable on a little boys, but not loving [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] full name as adult. And I was trying to avoid another S name.
Im drawn to suggestions [name_u]Jude[/name_u], [name_u]Elliot[/name_u], [name_m]Henry[/name_m], [name_u]Finn[/name_u], [name_m]Wesley[/name_m]. None of the [name_m]Jack[/name_m] combos have made me like it yet.
And within our circle of family/friends, quite a few of the suggestions were recently used, otherwise I would consider them as well. [name_m]Oliver[/name_m], [name_u]Sawyer[/name_u], [name_m]Declan[/name_m], [name_m]Wyatt[/name_m], [name_u]Owen[/name_u]. Too close to repeat.
I saw the name [name_u]Merritt[/name_u] suggested in one of the posts, it made me think of the name [name_m]Merrick[/name_m]. I have a nephew by that name and I just love it. I thought I’d bring it up for your consideration. It’s a name that is not that common, but still not that “unusual” sounding. [name_m]How[/name_m] would [name_m]Merrick[/name_m] [name_m]Jackson[/name_m] go with your last name?.. or [name_m]Merrick[/name_m] [name_m]Henry[/name_m], [name_m]Merrick[/name_m] [name_m]Wesley[/name_m], [name_m]Merrick[/name_m] [name_m]Wyatt[/name_m], [name_m]Merrick[/name_m] [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m]…
With [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f], 2 names that haven’t been suggested come to mind:
[name_m]Zachary[/name_m] or [name_m]Zachariah[/name_m] , nn “[name_m]Zack[/name_m]”. Close to [name_m]Jack[/name_m], but no rhyming with your last name in full.
And
[name_m]Soren[/name_m], it’s an S name I realise, but the S sounds different than in [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f]. And [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] and [name_m]Soren[/name_m] is such a nice sibset!
Things to think about:
[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] [name_f]Leona[/name_f]
^- 2 ^- 3 syllables
S-t L-a
Surname is [name_m]Mac[/name_m]-
Probably don’t start any names with s, L, M if you want initials to be different
You muffs also want to avoid using b names just because kids can be jerks
I would avoid any weird things you can spell with initials
[name_m]Jack[/name_m] [name_m]Mac[/name_m] is difficult and I also wouldn’t recommend it… But that said sometimes there are cool ways around this. Ok so [name_m]John[/name_m] has a nn and that [name_m]Jack[/name_m], [name_m]John[/name_m] makes a great middle name and
____ [name_m]John[/name_m] [name_m]Mac[/name_m]- could be awesome! Or
____ [name_m]Jonathan[/name_m] [name_m]Mac[/name_m]- if you are interested in maintaining the same syllable count as you had with your daughters middle. Also pretty excellent!
Your husband could call him [name_m]Jack[/name_m] as a nn and everyone would think it was adorable. Honestly that’s the best way to be [name_m]Jack[/name_m] [name_m]Mac[/name_m] … I wouldn’t use that as a legal name…
For a first name for little [name_u]Jackie[/name_u] here
If you go with a second two syllable name like with your first child that’s a fun way to connect them while not making them similar or using [name_m]Jonathan[/name_m] as a first, calling him [name_m]Jack[/name_m] and putting a two syllable name in for the middle so you’re swapping how you did it the first time? I like that too. To me it sounds like you like classical but still fresh. [name_m]Jack[/name_m] fits that but with your name I would stick to nn territory. And the names your daughter carries are quite full and very pretty. Something handsome would be very well fitting. Something like
[name_m]Oliver[/name_m] [name_m]John[/name_m]
[name_m]Jonathan[/name_m] [name_m]Cole[/name_m]
Or I like best personally [name_m]Jonathan[/name_m] as a middle as my unimportant preference so
__ __ [name_m]Jonathan[/name_m] [name_m]Mac[/name_m] —
[name_m]Harris[/name_m]
[name_m]Holden[/name_m]
[name_u]Noah[/name_u]
I would avoid obvious color names , I feel like I would avoid names like [name_m]Charles[/name_m] that have the same middle sound -ar as Scar…
