Brother for Theodore

[name_m]Hi[/name_m], folks! My husband and I are planning for baby #2. We have a [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] nn [name_u]Teddy[/name_u]. We already have several girl names but can’t seem to settle on one for another boy. We love old, classic names with historic or literary connections for the first name (we are big [name_m]Harry[/name_m] [name_m]Potter[/name_m] fans as is reflected in [name_u]Teddy[/name_u]'s names). We also want [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] or [name_m]Christian[/name_m] to be the middle name after my father since [name_u]James[/name_u] is after my father in law.
We love [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] but can’t think of any cute nn like [name_u]Teddy[/name_u] that would match stylistically. I love the nns [name_u]Alfie[/name_u] and [name_m]Archie[/name_m] but not necessarily the full names that come with them. [name_m]Harvey[/name_m] is on my list but not hubbys. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!

[name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] gives you [name_m]Nate[/name_m], [name_u]Nat[/name_u], [name_m]Nathan[/name_m]. It’s s great choice.

[name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] goes great with [name_m]Theodore[/name_m]! [name_u]Teddy[/name_u] and [name_m]Nate[/name_m] is really sweet.

[name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] nn [name_u]Nick[/name_u]
[name_m]Arthur[/name_m] nn [name_m]Artie[/name_m], [name_m]Art[/name_m], [name_m]Archie[/name_m]
[name_m]Frederick[/name_m] nn [name_u]Freddie[/name_u]
[name_m]Oliver[/name_m] nn [name_u]Ollie[/name_u]
[name_m]Phineas[/name_m] nn Phin

Those are all HP inspired and I think any of those would sound fantastic with [name_u]Teddy[/name_u].

[name_m]Nate[/name_m] and [name_u]Teddy[/name_u] are adorable together. Really fab.

Other names I think go well with [name_m]Theodore[/name_m]/[name_u]Teddy[/name_u] are :

[name_m]Henry[/name_m] “[name_m]Harry[/name_m]”
[name_u]August[/name_u] “[name_u]Gus[/name_u]”
[name_m]Oscar[/name_m] “Oscy”
[name_m]Rupert[/name_m] “Rupe/Roo”
[name_m]William[/name_m] “[name_u]Billy[/name_u]”
[name_m]Montgomery[/name_m] “[name_m]Monty[/name_m]”
[name_m]Roland[/name_m] “[name_m]Rollo[/name_m]/Roly” (This could be in deference to J.KRowling)

I actually think [name_m]Roland[/name_m] is my favourite of those. [name_u]Teddy[/name_u] and [name_m]Rollo[/name_m] sound great together, as do [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] and [name_m]Roland[/name_m]. And they both have a subtle [name_m]Harry[/name_m] [name_m]Potter[/name_m] connection.

I think [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] and [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] go well together. And while the nicknames may not be as “cute” as [name_u]Teddy[/name_u] I think there are plenty of options: [name_m]Nate[/name_m], [name_m]Nathan[/name_m], [name_u]Neil[/name_u].

Other name options:
[name_m]Atticus[/name_m]
[name_u]August/name_u - [name_u]Gus[/name_u]
[name_m]Caspian[/name_m] - [name_m]Cas[/name_m], [name_m]Ian[/name_m]
[name_m]Gideon[/name_m]
[name_m]Hugo[/name_m]
[name_m]Nicolas[/name_m] - [name_u]Nico[/name_u], [name_u]Nick[/name_u], [name_m]Cole[/name_m]

[name_m]Arthur[/name_m] is a cute name that is more old for archie
