Hello! I’m hoping for some help naming baby boy #2, due in [name]June[/name]. My son’s name is [name]Truman[/name], which we love because it’s uncommon enough to not have multiple Trumans in his class, and not too trendy {don’t want anything in the top 100 popular names}.
Our last name is [name]Cannon[/name], and here are some of my favorite names so far…any additions or anything you love from my list to go with [name]Truman[/name]?
[name]Tenney[/name] (a family surname)
[name]Crew[/name]
[name]Sawyer[/name]
[name]Cohen[/name]
[name]Ronan[/name]
[name]Hendrix[/name]
[name]Quentin[/name]
[name]Davis[/name]
[name]Holden[/name]
[name]Milo[/name]
[name]Enzo[/name]
[name]Everett[/name]
[name]Maddox[/name]
[name]Archer[/name]
I love [name]Cohen[/name], [name]Ronan[/name], and [name]Holden[/name] from your list. They are also on my list. Some others that might compliment [name]Truman[/name] well are…
I really like [name]Davis[/name], and the suggestion of [name]Miles[/name]. [name]Love[/name] [name]Truman[/name], btw! [name]Do[/name] you ever call him “[name]Tru[/name]”?
Since [name]Truman[/name] is so surnamey, I think another surname would fit right in! I actually really like [name]Tenney[/name], and I think [name]Sawyer[/name], [name]Quentin[/name], [name]Holden[/name], [name]Davis[/name], [name]Everett[/name] and [name]Archer[/name] work well, too (though I suspect the poster above me is right about the growing popularity of [name]Sawyer[/name], [name]Everett[/name], and also [name]Holden[/name]). [name]Davis[/name] [name]Tenney[/name] [name]Cannon[/name] or [name]Tenney[/name] [name]Davis[/name] [name]Cannon[/name] would be my first picks!
I find [name]Tru[/name] and [name]Crew[/name] too rhymey to work together. [name]IMO[/name] [name]Hendrix[/name] and [name]Maddox[/name] seem a bit trendy next to sturdy, rooted [name]Truman[/name]; [name]Milo[/name] too soft; and [name]Enzo[/name] very Italian. I would advise caution with the name [name]Cohen[/name]; there are several forum boards here that discuss its controversial, perhaps offensive use as a name when it holds a very special place in the Jewish tradition.
While I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Davis[/name] [name]Tenney[/name] [name]Cannon[/name], perhaps you might also consider [name]Gage[/name], [name]Willem[/name], [name]Lachlan[/name], [name]Bryant[/name], [name]Tierney[/name], [name]Porter[/name], [name]Barrett[/name] (love the nn [name]Bear[/name]), or (as an alternative to [name]Cohen[/name]) [name]Colin[/name]. Best wishes!
[name]Holden[/name] is name of a car manufacturer so that is out
[name]Maddox[/name] sounds very trendy
[name]Hendrix[/name] doesn’t ‘go’ but [name]Henry[/name] does
[name]Crewe[/name] is okay but not as a first name I would recommend [name]Bennett[/name] instead.
[name]Sawyer[/name] seems a bit backwoods to me and [name]Truman[/name] sounds very professional
[name]Cohen[/name] a big No as many Jewish people have a special regard for this name and if you are non Jewish and use this name they may be offended
[name]Quentin[/name] is a WINNER!
[name]Davis[/name] is another good suggestion
[name]Miles[/name] would have to be the match otherwise [name]MIlo[/name] is a mismatch with [name]Truman[/name]
[name]Enzo[/name] very Italian
[name]Everett[/name] nn [name]Rhett[/name] a very good match
[name]Archer[/name] is fine but [name]Archie[/name] reminds me of the comic book character
[name]Truman[/name] is a cool name. I like [name]Sawyer[/name] and [name]Everett[/name] the best out of your list, but too wonder about gaining popularity. I’m not sure of it’s current popularity but the name I instantly thought of to go with [name]Truman[/name] was [name]Cole[/name]. I think [name]Cole[/name] [name]Tenney[/name] [name]Cannon[/name] or [name]Cole[/name] [name]Everett[/name] [name]Cannon[/name] would work nicely.
[name]Truman[/name] and
[name]Spencer[/name]
[name]Hudson[/name]
[name]Hunter[/name]
[name]Winston[/name]
[name]Beckett[/name]
[name]Bowen[/name]
I love pretty much every name on your list but I’d steer clear of names with 'x’s or z’s as they are quite trendy at the moment and arent as classic as [name]Truman[/name]
[name]Truman[/name] is pretty much the top of our list at the moment so I’m excited to see that you are still enjoying it a couple years later. I really like [name]Holden[/name], [name]Archer[/name] and [name]Davis[/name] as siblings.
Other names that we also like which you might find useful are:
[name]Atlas[/name] (unusual and strong)
[name]Sullivan[/name] ([name]Sully[/name] and [name]Tru[/name]? Awesome if you like word-names, which I am a huge fan of)
[name]Sutton[/name] (that surname vibe)
[name]Evander[/name]
[name]Danton[/name]
