Brother for Warren

[name_u]Baby[/name_u] #2 is officially going to be a boy! Big brother is [name_m]Warren[/name_m] [name_m]Patrick[/name_m], which were names that we both loved and also happened to have family connections to them.

Really struggling to find a boy name that I love as much as our firstborn’s.

I think my top contender might be [name_m]Webster[/name_m] right now, but I have some reservations about it.
Months ago, my husband said something about my word choice in a conversation, and I sarcastically said, “Alright, calm down Merriam Webster.” I immediately thought that [name_m]Webster[/name_m] would make a cute baby name and when I said the thought out loud, my husband surprisingly agreed. Also, my husband’s step-dad’s surname is [name_m]Webb[/name_m] and he has no biological children carrying his last name. [name_m]Warren[/name_m] was my paternal grandfather’s name and [name_m]Patrick[/name_m] is both my husband’s and his father’s middle names. So, it feels like it might be nice to have some sort of nod to his step-dad, but I also don’t know if that would be weird if a baby named [name_m]Webster[/name_m] needed up being called [name_m]Web[/name_m] when that is my in-law’s surname?
I’m also not too sure if it is too “out there” for people. I do sort of like that both [name_m]Warren[/name_m] and [name_m]Webster[/name_m] are surnames as first names… that isn’t a prerequisite for a name for us but it sort of makes them feel cohesive I think. [name_m]Just[/name_m] another pro for [name_m]Webster[/name_m] in my brain. And I just think [name_m]Warren[/name_m] and [name_m]Webster[/name_m] sound nice a sibling set.

A few other names that I have jotted down that I have either mixed feelings about or just heard and thought were interesting but maybe too far fetched:

Webster is definitely unexpected, but I quite like it with Warren. The family connection is sweet, too. I come from a place where family surnames are frequently used as first names on the next generation, so I don’t think the Web/Webb thing is weird at all.

Your whole list is great! My favorites with Warren are Roland, Wallace, Murphy, Murray, Rafferty, and Whittaker.

My only hesitations are with Watson, Sören, Penn, and Perrin as they share a few too many sounds with Warren for my taste.

A few suggestions: Wade, Clark, Lawrence, Lewis, Vaughn, Grant, Malcolm, Spencer, Wesley, Barrett, Walter, Martin

From yours, my favorite is [name_u]Wallace[/name_u]!

Some suggestions:

First of all, I really like the name [name_m]Warren[/name_m] and I love surnames used as first names. Nice choice! I definitely think [name_m]Webster[/name_m] works and I don’t think it’s too out there at all. I do notice that the names on your list ending in ‘n’ may sound a bit close to [name_m]Warren[/name_m] but that may not concern you as it isn’t terrible by any means.Other suggestions with Warren….

[name_m]Turner[/name_m]
[name_m]Slater[/name_m] (I know of someone named [name_m]Slater[/name_m] and a young boy named [name_m]Turner[/name_m] and love those names. [name_f]My[/name_f] favourites for you!)

[name_m]Lochlan[/name_m]
[name_m]Nash[/name_m]
[name_u]Hayes[/name_u]
[name_m]Marcus[/name_m]
[name_u]Everett[/name_u]
[name_m]Merrick[/name_m]

[name_m]Webster[/name_m] is a fabulous and meaningful choice - and I don’t think him being called Web/your in-law’s surname is any odder than any other honour name?

[name_m]Webster[/name_m] is approachable - unique but perfectly familiar too; easy to say and spell.

I also enjoy:

[name_m]Roland[/name_m] - clunky cool, classic but underused
[name_u]Sullivan[/name_u] - lovely and strong and stylish
[name_m]Tobias[/name_m] - classic and gentle
[name_m]Maxfield[/name_m] - established but with flair
[name_u]Murphy[/name_u] - love the meaning and sound and rugged feel
[name_m]Rafferty[/name_m] - cheerful, zippy and bright
[name_m]Whittaker[/name_m] - snappy and cool!

A few suggestions:

[name_m]Weaver[/name_m] - maybe off-beat, but [name_m]Webster[/name_m] means [name_m]Weaver[/name_m]

[name_m]Wilbur[/name_m] - a bit like [name_m]Webster[/name_m], with that W-b sound

[name_u]Carlisle[/name_u]

[name_u]Callahan[/name_u]

[name_u]Emmett[/name_u]

[name_m]Sholto[/name_m]

[name_m]Shepherd[/name_m]

[name_m]Eben[/name_m]

[name_u]Walter[/name_u]

Walcott

[name_m]Truett[/name_m]

[name_m]Tallis[/name_m]

[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_m]Webster[/name_m]! I also like [name_m]Whitman[/name_m] :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

I really like it! It’s unexpected, but it pairs so well with [name_m]Warren[/name_m] without being too matchy! [name_f]My[/name_f] runner up choice would be [name_u]Merritt[/name_u].
