Brother name for big bro Crosley

Help! [name_u]Baby[/name_u] #2 is due in 3 weeks. We are having another boy. Our son is named Crosley after Crosley [name_m]Field[/name_m] in Cincinnati. [name_f]My[/name_f] husband and I are huge Reds fans and went to a game for our first date. Looking for a unique name (maybe ending in -ey or -y) to compliment big brother. Hubby likes [name_u]Finley[/name_u], but I’m not sold as I know a few girls named [name_u]Finley[/name_u]. Our last name is [name_u]Cooper[/name_u], so wanting to avoid anything ending in -er. Thanks!

I second the suggestion of [name_u]Rigby[/name_u]. At first I thought I had a long list for you then realized that names ending in ‘er’ don’t work with [name_u]Cooper[/name_u]. Crosley and…

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] there.

I love a good baseball inspired named kid. I have [name_m]Nolan[/name_m], [name_u]Cal[/name_u] & [name_m]Gibson[/name_m] on my shortish list for baseball reasons. Crosley is very cool. I’m a die hard Cardinals fan, but [name_m]Busch[/name_m] is not a great first name option. :joy:

Anyway, onto names for the little brother. I love [name_u]Finley[/name_u] & think it’s great w/Crosley. I totally get your hesitation though. [name_m]Even[/name_m] though it’s way masculine in my opinion, is it getting annoyingly popular for girls. Maybe just [name_u]Finn[/name_u], [name_m]Finnian[/name_m] or [name_m]Finnegan[/name_m]? Nn Finney even. Or [name_u]Flynn[/name_u] would be nice.

Oh! So, I read a good historical fiction book a few years back called ‘If I Never Get Back’. Have you heard of it? It’s about a guy in modern day who somehow time travels back to the 1860s & ends up hanging out w/& playing for the original Reds team back then. I actually discovered my new favorite boy name from that book, [name_m]Colm[/name_m]. He was an Irish immigrant soldier, not one of the players. Anyway, I think that a lot of the player characters were based off of real Reds from that time. And it’s a jack pot of names if you wanted to have a cool & obscure Reds inspired name. [name_m]Just[/name_m] go look at very old team rosters. [name_m]Just[/name_m] an idea.

Here are a few other suggestions that you may like-

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps.

I agree. You can’t go wrong with a good baseball-inspired name. I like [name_m]Nolan[/name_m] a lot. Two friends of ours named their boys [name_m]Nolan[/name_m].

Good idea to consider variations of [name_u]Finley[/name_u]. Thanks for giving us some other ideas.

I will definitely have to get ‘If I Never Get Back’. I have not heard of it. I’ll have to ask my husband if he has. It sounds really good. [name_f]May[/name_f] be a great early Father’s [name_u]Day[/name_u] gift. :grinning:

Thanks for all of the other name suggestions. It’s nice to have a variety to go through. I appreciate it!

Oooh, I like [name_u]Rigby[/name_u]. Thanks for the other suggestions, too!

Thank you! It’s the perfect name for our son. He’s such a cool, unique kiddo!

[name_f]My[/name_f] maiden name is [name_m]Huck[/name_m], so I’m drawn to [name_m]Huxley[/name_m]. Thanks for all of the great suggestions.

You could always throw [name_u]Red[/name_u] into the mn spot to tie the two names together. - it is a legit name on Nameberry altho the “[name_u]Red[/name_u]” I was thinking of they don’t have mentioned (a former football coach named [name_u]Red[/name_u] [name_m]Dawson[/name_m]). Other then that my support has always gone towards another team to have much of an connection suggestion.

Ebbets, for Ebbets [name_m]Field[/name_m] in N.Y.
Fenway, nah that’s too weird.
[name_m]Johnny[/name_m] for [name_m]Johnny[/name_m] Bench, a famous Reds player.

Crosley and…

[name_m]Peter[/name_m] or [name_m]Petey[/name_m] for [name_m]Pete[/name_m] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]?

Just wanted to let you know we ended up going with [name_u]Huxley[/name_u]. Thanks for the suggestion.

That’s really a nice pair!

I second [name_m]Wesley[/name_m] and [name_u]Remy[/name_u]. [name_u]Casey[/name_u] and [name_u]Cassidy[/name_u]

Hudson was my first thought.
