Brother or Sister coming for Maeve!

[name_m]Just[/name_m] found out we are expecting #2 in [name_u]July[/name_u]!! We have an 18month old daughter, [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f].

Some runner ups from last time include [name_f]Isla[/name_f], [name_f]Violet[/name_f] & [name_f]Lilah[/name_f] // [name_m]Donovan[/name_m] or [name_m]Ronan[/name_m]
Middle names would most likely be [name_f]Mary[/name_f] or [name_f]Mairead[/name_f] for a girl and [name_u]August[/name_u] for a boy after family members.
Does [name_f]Isla[/name_f] [name_f]Mary[/name_f] sound okay? I feel like it’s so short & our front runner for a boy, [name_m]Donovan[/name_m] [name_u]August[/name_u] so long  I do love the look and sound of [name_f]Isla[/name_f] [name_f]Mairead[/name_f] but afraid people won’t be able to spell and pronounce it.

Any feedback and suggestions welcome Thanks!

Oh, I love [name_f]Lilah[/name_f] and [name_m]Ronan[/name_m] with [name_f]Maeve[/name_f]!

[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] and [name_f]Lilah[/name_f] [name_f]Mary[/name_f]- swoon!

[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] and [name_m]Ronan[/name_m] [name_u]August[/name_u]- fantastic!

I think [name_f]Isla[/name_f] [name_f]Mary[/name_f] is great! I don’t know how to pronounce [name_f]Mairead[/name_f] myself, but most people can pronounce [name_f]Isla[/name_f] these days.

I also like [name_m]Donovan[/name_m] [name_u]August[/name_u]; I don’t think it’s too long.

Some suggestions:
[name_m]Ewan[/name_m], [name_m]Declan[/name_m] or [name_u]Rhys[/name_u] and
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f], [name_f]Nora[/name_f], [name_f]Niamh[/name_f] or [name_f]Lucy[/name_f].

I think [name_f]Mairead[/name_f] is beautiful and worth telling people how to pronounce it when middle name is used. [name_u]Marian[/name_u] is also an option as a longer form of [name_f]Mary[/name_f]. I prefer [name_f]Lilah[/name_f] to [name_f]Isla[/name_f] since it seems a bit more classic, but I think all of your options are good.

I am a huge fan of all of these names! [name_f]Adore[/name_f] both [name_m]Donovan[/name_m] and [name_m]Ronan[/name_m]… both sounds good with [name_u]August[/name_u]. [name_f]Isla[/name_f] would be my top pick for a girl. I think [name_f]Isla[/name_f] [name_f]Mary[/name_f] is classy and sweet. I wouldn’t worry about the contrasting length. I’ll also throw out [name_f]Fiona[/name_f]… [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] [name_f]Mary[/name_f] would be lovely as well. Good luck!

I think [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Mairead[/name_f] would be adorable, and [name_m]Ronan[/name_m] [name_u]August[/name_u].

Other ideas I’ll throw out:

[name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Mairead[/name_f]
[name_f]Olivia[/name_f] [name_f]Mairead[/name_f]
[name_f]Sienna[/name_f] [name_f]Mary[/name_f]
[name_f]Isadora[/name_f] [name_f]Mary[/name_f]

[name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_u]August[/name_u]
[name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] [name_u]August[/name_u]

Thank you all! I’m going to try hard to sell hubs on [name_m]Ronan[/name_m] but he is pretty set on [name_m]Donovan[/name_m].
Funny I was afraid [name_f]Lilah[/name_f] was a little too…frilly? and [name_f]Isla[/name_f] was the more classic choice lol! [name_f]Mary[/name_f] is a family name on both sides primarily to honor my husband’s grandmother since [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] was to honor my grandmother, however [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] was also his grandma [name_f]Mary[/name_f]'s middle name so perhaps that is redundant? [name_f]Mairead[/name_f] would be to honor the many Margarets on my side.
I will run some of the many good suggestions you all had by the hubs too

[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] is gorgeous, what a lovely name

As for baby #2, it sounds as though you’re on track for another great name!
For a girl, I love love love [name_f]Isla[/name_f] [name_f]Mairead[/name_f], it’s so much lovelier than [name_f]Isla[/name_f] [name_f]Mary[/name_f], which is also very nice, but [name_f]Isla[/name_f] [name_f]Mairead[/name_f] is stunning. It matches perfectly in style with your elder daughter, and has the same number of syllables as well for an added balance bonus. As for your spelling/pronounciation worry, I really wouldn’t stress it. Worst case scenario is that you have to tell a few people and they get to learn a beautiful new name. Maybe it would be a valid concern for a first name, but for a middle name I really don’t think that it’s such a big deal.

For a boy, I do prefer [name_m]Ronan[/name_m] [name_u]August[/name_u], it’s a really sweet combination and goes better with [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] than [name_m]Donovan[/name_m] in my opinion. I also like the Irish and [name_m]German[/name_m] paired names, it gives it a gentle International vibe. [name_m]Donovan[/name_m] is nice enough, but I don’t love it. It also feels a little overlong for me when paired with the single syllable [name_f]Maeve[/name_f].

[name_f]Isla[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f] is gorgeous! (It’s in my signature!)
