Brother Rodgers

I think I’ve narrowed down to maybe 5-6 choices but I’m actually having a hard time picking the name that sounds good standalone vs as part of my sib set. So any insight is appreciated in either direction, sib set or not! Our surname is Rodgers. Our daughter is [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f]. I’m told this is classic grandma chic lol.

[name_f]Anna[/name_f] and…

[name_u]Ryan[/name_u] [name_m]William[/name_m] or [name_u]Ryan[/name_u] [name_m]Joseph[/name_m]
[name_m]Joseph[/name_m] [name_m]Patrick[/name_m]
[name_m]Nathan[/name_m] [name_m]William[/name_m] or [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] [name_m]Joseph[/name_m]
[name_m]Izaak[/name_m] [name_m]Matthew[/name_m] (nickname [name_m]Zak[/name_m]- spelling is negotiable. Hubby is [name_m]German[/name_m] and that is the [name_m]German[/name_m] spelling so I went with it)
[name_u]Jude[/name_u] [name_m]Matthew[/name_m]

Mix and match is ok but most of these names are made to honor both sides of our family so changing them might be kinda tricky without leaving out someone we’d like to include. [name_m]Nathan[/name_m]/ [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] are interchangeable so let me know if you have a preference. Variants are also fine in general if you like another version of a name. Hoping 22 weeks is my lucky week and we can land a name for this little babe!

I like [name_u]Jude[/name_u] [name_m]Matthew[/name_m] the best! [name_u]Jude[/name_u] Rodgers sounds really smooth, and [name_f]Anna[/name_f] & [name_u]Jude[/name_u] sound like a very nice-sounding and balanced pair.

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] there, Mebeshell.

It’s me, the mother of the other [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f]. (: I have been meaning to find time to reply to one of your posts about naming your little boy. I am having another girl. We are pretty much settled on naming her [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f].

Anyway, this is really tough. [name_u]Truly[/name_u], I don’t think you can go wrong with any of these options and the challenge is to figure out what your heart wants. All the first/middle combos sound good to me and all the first names sound good with Rodgers.

I personally love [name_f]Anna[/name_f] because it’s purity and classic status. With that in mind, I feel like [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] is the best match stylistically. I’m not sure if you love it though.

The only one I would consider eliminating is [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m]. Though it is a great match stylistically with [name_f]Anna[/name_f], when I say ‘[name_f]Anna[/name_f] and [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m]’ out lout, they sound awfully similar. This is less noticeable with ‘[name_f]Anna[/name_f] and [name_m]Nathan[/name_m]’ because in ‘[name_m]Nathan[/name_m]’ the emphasis is on the ‘Nath’ and not the ‘an’. You must be drawn to the ‘an’ sound as it also shows up in ‘[name_u]Ryan[/name_u]’. (:

[name_u]Ryan[/name_u] feels a little 90’s to me, but still a good choice.

[name_u]Jude[/name_u] and [name_m]Izaak[/name_m] are also great options, though I would push for the [name_m]Isaac[/name_m] spelling if you are living in an English-speaking country.

I don’t think you are looking for more options, but FWIW, my personal favourite brother pairings with [name_f]Anna[/name_f] are [name_u]James[/name_u], [name_m]William[/name_m] and [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]. I also really love [name_m]Simon[/name_m] from your earlier list.

Good luck! I can’t wait to find out what you choose!

[name_m]Joseph[/name_m] just sounds really perfect with [name_f]Anna[/name_f] to me! Also [name_u]Jude[/name_u]. Maybe it’s something about J names, I could also imagine an [name_f]Anna[/name_f] with a brother named [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] or [name_m]Joel[/name_m]!

I love [name_u]Ryan[/name_u] [name_m]William[/name_m], but I’m afraid with ln Rodgers it becomes a bit tongue twisty going R W R. I keep saying [name_u]Ryan[/name_u] Rilliam instead. On the other hand, [name_m]William[/name_m] [name_u]Ryan[/name_u] Rodgers could totally work! I think the rhythm of W R R works much better, and [name_f]Anna[/name_f] and [name_m]Will[/name_m] would make such an adorable, classic sib set!

I also adore [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] [name_m]Joseph[/name_m], but I kinda agree with the pp that the AN emphasis in [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] makes it a little similar to [name_f]Anna[/name_f] in sound. If that doesn’t bother you though, I think [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] Rodgers is an amazing name and that a [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] and [name_f]Anna[/name_f] would otherwise be a great pair!

[name_u]Ryan[/name_u] [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] and [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] [name_m]Patrick[/name_m] would also be great choices!

Congratulations! My favorite is [name_u]Jude[/name_u] [name_m]Matthew[/name_m]. [name_f]Anna[/name_f] and [name_u]Jude[/name_u] sound wonderful together.

I’m not too fond of [name_u]Ryan[/name_u] Rodgers & it feels too overused and not “vintage” to me yet like your daughters name. [name_m]Nathan[/name_m]/[name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] are in that same category for me.

I like izaak, but I think the spelling is too unique to pair with [name_f]Anna[/name_f].

I would choose [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] [name_m]Patrick[/name_m] or [name_u]Jude[/name_u] [name_m]Matthew[/name_m].

I vote for [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] [name_m]Patrick[/name_m]. I also love [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] but agree it sounds similar to [name_f]Anna[/name_f]. If it’s an option, [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] would be my favorite. [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] is a great combo.
