I absolutely adore [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] but I’m afraid it’s too common for [name_u]Laurence[/name_u]. What do you think?
They go very well together! If the popularity bothers you, you could use it as a middle, but I think the set is wonderful.
I don’t think the popularity matters. The styles match, and I think that’s far more important. [name_u]Laurence[/name_u] & [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] are perfect together! Use the name you love.
I definitely agree with @almostactually and @elanorelle!
Agreed! [name_u]Laurence[/name_u] and [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] sound lovely together (:
I love how they sound together! The popularity doesn’t bother me! [name_f]My[/name_f] name is [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] but the rest of my sisters have way less common names that happen to match mine in tone!
Laurence and [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] are perfect for brothers!
Both names are classic, charming, handsome, literary and elegant.
[name_u]Laurence[/name_u] and [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] are a lovely pair! Fantastic.
It’s true [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] is a lot more popular than [name_u]Laurence[/name_u], but the two names are stylistically well matched and if the popularity of [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] isn’t a issue for you in and of itself then there’s really no reason not to use it.
I admit i find it a bit lacklustre but it isn’t a bad choice
I personally love [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] and think it sounds fine with [name_u]Laurence[/name_u]. I’m not sure if you mean common as in heard a lot aka popular or common as in not very interesting. If the first, I agree, [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] is popular, but still a great name. If the latter, I think [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] is an adorably handsome and solid name. The sibset does make me think of [name_u]Laurence[/name_u] [name_m]Olivier[/name_m], but I doubt many people would make that association anymore and it’s not a bad association either.
[name_f]My[/name_f] first thought too! Not a bad connection though.
I like [name_m]Oliver[/name_m]. It does feel a bit more “expected” than [name_u]Laurence[/name_u], but it’s a really lovely name, and definitely has the same dignified charm.
If you absolutely love it, go for it! They go together really well stylistically, I don’t think it’s a big deal that one is much more popular. [name_f]My[/name_f] three children have names of quite different popularity levels (one Top 200, one Top 500, one outside the Top 1000) and I still think they fit well together.
I really like the combination of [name_u]Laurence[/name_u] and [name_m]Oliver[/name_m]!
I think [name_u]Laurence[/name_u] is familiar enough that they go really well together, even if there is a difference in popularity currently.
Reminds me of [name_u]Lawrence[/name_u] [name_m]Olivier[/name_m], the actor.
They do sound really nice together! If you love the name, I wouldn’t worry about popularity. No idea if you use nicknames at all, but [name_u]Laurie[/name_u] and [name_u]Ollie[/name_u] are adorable together (and would also be really endearing on adults)!
