My husband and I are expecting our first child, with due date quickly approaching. We didn’t find out the gender, and have had a relatively easy time with boys’ names. We’ve decided on a middle name, which is non-negotiable, as we’re honouring a deceased family member, but vacillate between first names, without a clear front-runner.
So, in alphabetical order (for neutrality!) here are our top 4.
Thoughts (brutal honesty please!)? Thanks!
I really like them all, though [name]Billie[/name] is my least favorite, but it’s still kinda cute. They are all great names! My order of preference is:
[name]Anabelle[/name] [name]Grace[/name]; [name]Eden[/name] [name]Grace[/name]; [name]Aria[/name] [name]Grace[/name]; [name]Billie[/name] [name]Grace[/name]. Very, very pretty. You can’t go wrong!

[name]Anabelle[/name] [name]Grace[/name]; [name]Eden[/name] [name]Grace[/name]; [name]Aria[/name] [name]Grace[/name]; [name]Billie[/name] [name]Grace[/name]. Very, very pretty. You can’t go wrong!
[name]Anabelle[/name] [name]Grace[/name] - [name]LOVE[/name]. I prefer the [name]Annabelle[/name] spelling, but either way, I love the name [name]Annabelle[/name]. I think it flows with [name]Grace[/name] and is just so lovely.
[name]Aria[/name] [name]Grace[/name] - Super pretty. I also recommend this one.
[name]Billie[/name] [name]Grace[/name] - I do not like [name]Billie[/name] for a girl. It contrasts too much with [name]Grace[/name].
[name]Eden[/name] [name]Grace[/name] - Sorry, not crazy about [name]Eden[/name].
I like [name]Aria[/name] and [name]Anabelle[/name]. I like [name]Aria[/name] better, but it has no nicknames I like, so I’d pick [name]Anabelle[/name].
[name]Aria[/name] [name]Grace[/name] is unique and pretty.
Next, I like [name]Anabelle[/name] [name]Grace[/name].
[name]Billie[/name] [name]Grace[/name] is cute. Are you guys southern?
[name]Eden[/name] [name]Grace[/name] sounds very biblical. I don’t know if that’s a bad thing or not. Also, wasn’t [name]Eden[/name] the fall from grace in the bible?
My favorite is [name]Eden[/name] - have always loved the name, and the nickname [name]Edie[/name]. [name]Anabelle[/name] and [name]Billie[/name] are roughly tied for second for me. I like them both okay, but they’re very different, so it’s kind of an apples to oranges comparison - [name]Anabelle[/name] is elegant and frilly, while [name]Billie[/name] is spunky and fun. I’m not a fan of [name]Aria[/name].
I like [name]Anabelle[/name] [name]Grace[/name] and [name]Aria[/name] [name]Grace[/name] the best. [name]Anabelle[/name] is super cute and has lots of nn potential but [name]Aria[/name] [name]Grace[/name] sounds really nice together and is more unique.
[name]Eden[/name] [name]Grace[/name] is okay.
[name]Billie[/name] [name]Grace[/name] is awful, sorry. I don’t like [name]Billie[/name] for a girl to start with and [name]Billie[/name] [name]Grace[/name] just doesn’t sound right.
I like other poster’s suggestions in other threads -they have mentioned that it’s a good idea to bring your list of names to the birth with you and see what your new baby looks like. Maybe she will look like she needs a more classic name like [name]Anabelle[/name] or maybe she will need a prettier, fresh name like [name]Aria[/name]. Maybe one of your names will just “feel right” at the time.
[name]Anabelle[/name] [name]Grace[/name] is the best option, thought I prefer [name]Annabelle[/name] or [name]Anabel[/name] for the symmetry. I think it would age well and it provides different nicknames for the future, just in case. I think it would work well on a person with any personality and any career.
[name]Aria[/name] [name]Grace[/name] isn’t my favorite. I always want to pronounce it uh-[name]RYE[/name]-uh. It reminds me of the word aerial, among other things. I also can’t imagine it on someone in a professional career.
[name]Billie[/name] [name]Grace[/name] - As a woman with a boy’s name as a first name, I don’t recommend it. I don’t find it cute, and it creates unnecessary problems and inconveniences in the future. Whether it’s spelled [name]Billy[/name], [name]Billie[/name], or some other way, it doesn’t make a difference.
[name]Eden[/name] [name]Grace[/name] - I like [name]Anabelle[/name] [name]Grace[/name] the most, but I also like this. I’m not really a fan of [name]Eden[/name], but it’s short and cute, but I think it could also age gracefully. However, [name]Eden[/name]'s biblical meaning and history might be a bit much paired with [name]Grace[/name], but it’s still lovely overall.
My favourite is [name]Aria[/name]. I think that it’s short but beautiful. It flows perfectly with [name]Grace[/name], and you can easily shorten it to [name]Ari[/name].
[name]Anabelle[/name]- I love this name, it’s vintage, cute, and has great nickname potential.
[name]Aria[/name]- I’m not the biggest fan of this name. It’s trendy, and heading towards dated.
[name]Billie[/name]- I think it’s cute, but it’s too informal for my tastes.
[name]Eden[/name]- I don’t like it at all, it might not be fair, but I clump this into my trashy name category.
I love [name]Eden[/name] [name]Grace[/name] most, but I like the name of [name]Aria[/name] more.
[name]Eden[/name] [name]Grace[/name] or [name]Aria[/name] [name]Grace[/name] get my vote.
[name]Anabelle[/name] feels tired, and kinda trendy/overused which is weird cause it’s not really.
[name]Billie[/name] is just awful awful on a girl imho, sorry. I just want to sing “[name]Billie[/name] [name]Jean[/name], is not my lover.” over and over and over when I hear it!
[name]Eden[/name], or [name]Aria[/name] [name]Grace[/name] is [name]LOVELY[/name].
