Good afternoon berries!
So I’ve been thinking about the name [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] and [name_f]Hailey[/name_f] lately, but are not sure on one. I really like [name_f]Chloe[/name_f], which can be both a super princessy name and a baddass name, but are afraid that sometimes it might reminds people of a pet (which I sometimes do too). I also really like [name_f]Hailey[/name_f], which gives me both a sweet little girl and a grown up teenager feeling.
So, what do you guys think? And PLEASE PLEASE add a reason if you have one. That will help a LOT!
Thanx
And yes, I know both of them are quite popular, so I don’t care about that.
I like [name_f]Hailey[/name_f] more. I think it sounds prettier.
I wouldn’t worry about [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] sounding like a pet name. It’s a common name and totally usable on people. I see it more like a human name that’s used on animals and not the other way around.
I love [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] - not a pet name to me at all - such a great meaning and feel.
[name_f]Hailey[/name_f] is nice too, but I’m not so fond on the sound. I prefer the similar [name_f]Hallie[/name_f] and [name_f]Holly[/name_f] tbh
I can’t stand the Kardashians so [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] is a no-go for me so [name_f]Hailey[/name_f].
[name_f]Hailey[/name_f] feels like a trendy name that peaked when the current teenagers were born.
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f] feels more current and also more classic. It has a tiny bit of pet name vibe to me but mostly because [name_f]Cleo[/name_f] is a pet name to me. I’d definitely choose [name_f]Chloe[/name_f].
I like the name [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] but I prefer [name_f]Cleo[/name_f].
[name_f]Hailey[/name_f] is my favourite I think it sounds very classy and beauitful.
I like [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] - don’t find it pet like at all
The only [name_f]Hailey[/name_f]/Hayleys I know are all in their 30s and 40s. Xx
I much prefer [name_f]Chloe[/name_f]. To me, it doesn’t sound like a pet name at all, and I think it’s classic, elegant, and refined. [name_f]Hailey[/name_f] is nice, but I think it’s quite trendy and not as enduring as [name_f]Chloe[/name_f].
I think [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] is very sweet. I definitely don’t think of it as a pet name. I like [name_f]Hailey[/name_f] as well, but I prefer the similar sounding [name_f]Haidee[/name_f].
I prefer [name_f]Chloe[/name_f]. I see [name_f]Hailey[/name_f] as very tied to a certain generation, and a bit dated. I also see [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] this way, but much less so than [name_f]Hailey[/name_f]. I should add that I really like Hallie as an alternative to Hailey!
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f] is okay, [name_f]Hailey[/name_f] isn’t my favorite. I’ll be honest, they both seem so heavily 2000s/1990s that they are beginning to feel dated.
I prefer [name_f]Chloe[/name_f]. It reminds me of one of my favorite names, [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f]. The spelling is usually with a C or sometimes with a K, Khloé. In my opinion, [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] is more interesting and more classic than [name_f]Hailey[/name_f]. I also associate [name_f]Hailey[/name_f] with [name_f]Hailey[/name_f]’s comet.
[name_f]Hailey[/name_f], on the other hand, falls into a group of names with many variation in spelling and pronunciation, [name_u]Haley[/name_u], [name_f]Haylie[/name_f], [name_f]Hallie[/name_f], [name_u]Halle[/name_u], etc
I prefer Chloe. Hailey feels more cutesy and comes off as very 90s/00s to me on a girl. Chloe feels more timeless.
For context, Chloe has charted in the ss top 1000 since 1900, it fell out of favor between the 50s into late 70s (the age of Lynda and Kathy) but has stayed strong since it’s reappearance.
Hailey first appeared on the charts in 1982 and hit its peak between 2004 and 2009 (within the top 25 or higher during that time.)
Chloe is technically the more popular name right now but based on it’s history will have a more classic charm where Hailey stands the chance of feeling very dated.
I like them both. The only solution is to have two daughters. [name_f]Kailee[/name_f] won’t do as a compromise nor can [name_f]Harlow[/name_f] or Halo. [name_f]Clea[/name_f] might be the trick.
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f] is NOT a pet name.
But i think i prefer [name_f]Hailey[/name_f]…sujbective. Also I know an awful lot of chloes right now.
[name_f]Hailey[/name_f] has a slight older american vibe, but is also quite 21st century. [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] is, as someone said, timeless. [name_u]True[/name_u]…
I also prefer the sound of [name_f]Hailey[/name_f].
I prefer [name_f]Chloe[/name_f]
One thing to keep in mind w/[name_f]Hailey[/name_f] is that there are a couple of pronunciations possible as well as multiple spellings…the name can be said as Hail-ee or Hay-lee, at least that I’ve heard, & spelled as [name_f]Hailey[/name_f], [name_f]Hayley[/name_f], [name_f]Hailee[/name_f], [name_f]Haylee[/name_f], [name_f]Hailie[/name_f], etc. And there might be a lot of confusion w/the names [name_u]Halle[/name_u]/[name_u]Halley[/name_u]/[name_u]Halley[/name_u] (this last is actually the name of the comet, not [name_f]Hailey[/name_f]), which at least that I’ve heard are pronounced [name_m]Hal[/name_m]-ee. Full disclosure: My ex-[name_m]SIL[/name_m]'s daughter is spelled [name_f]Hailey[/name_f], but her mom gets irate if it’s pronounced Hail-ee & will forcefully correct anyone who doesn’t pronounce it Hay-lee.
I prefer [name_f]Chloe[/name_f], as previous poster said its timeless. I also think it ages better than [name_f]Hailey[/name_f].
