Jamil Kelty Marcos (27) is the best friend and teammate of Charlotte’s husband, with the couple having recently eloped! Jamil is also a younger child, but just of two. He loves Australian rules football and used to feel like that was his life, though he’s settled it down more. He likes Charlotte’s husband only as a friend, which he worries people on the team would say otherwise, given Jamil is gay. Jamil doesn’t think he’d date a teammate anyway and used to fling with someone on an opposing team, though that fling is well over. Jamil is watching a tabby cat, Elmo, at his house but Elmo is technically not his cat. Elmo is a cat from a friend who is currently away for an extended time due to a work project, so Jamil is temporarily taking in Elmo until his friend comes back. Jamil gets shy about how to get animals to behave in new environments with him, since Elmo is aware that Jamil isn’t his owner. But Jamil has gotten Elmo happy with him, even if Elmo used to scratch…a little.
Jamil is excited for Charlotte since he knew she and her husband were eloping. He didn’t know all the details but he loves their rings and found them the type to dream of that type of wedding. Jamil’s older relatives all had big weddings but he would prefer a smaller one. Elopement is unusual for his family, but not counted out even if no one has done it. Jamil is also great at computers but pretends he isn’t because he’s had relatives hassle him over computer problems! He’s even his grandmother complain about something when the fix was simply turning the monitor on! He’s also in the know of one of Charlotte’s siblings being great at computers and actually enjoying helping people, and he wishes he had this patience. Jamil is honestly happy lately though because he’s relieved a lot of the stress he used to have about keeping up with his team. Now he feels he can bounce back better and also have a great time with his good friend. Usually when he makes a minor error, he just shakes it off and vibes, because he’s not going to ruin his day on something small.
