i did say there would be more… every name in this game was given to exactly eighteen babies (of the listed sex) in england and wales in 2021 !! i’ve already made two of these:

and will probably make even more with different numbers !! all lists are randomly generated from the full list of options. spellings are written exactly but you can do whatever you want <3

note (pedantry)

because i didn’t want to assign genders to this set of kids, i generated my namesets from a combined list of both all-names-used-for-eighteen-baby-boys and all-names-used-for-eighteen-baby-girls, which means that there are some neutral names that were given to more than eighteen total babies. i’m too lazy to address this, but i’ve tried to avoid any names that are glaringly more popular for ‘the other’ sex.

it’s all in the spellings !! while sofie was given to eighteen babies (rank 1638), sofia and sophie were given to 1671 and 1375 respectively, giving them the ranks 23 and 30. similarly, anabelle is uncommon (joint rank 1638) but annabelle was given to 438 babies (rank 109), annabel 165 (rank 287) annabella 66 (rank 588). also, anabel and anabella were each given to 14 babies (join rank 1962). the name itself is reasonably common, it’s just a case of spelling.
