So some of you may know that I love the name [name_u]Jay[/name_u], especially as a middle name. What do you guys think sounds better? [name_m]Caleb[/name_m] [name_u]Jay[/name_u] or [name_m]Tommy[/name_m] [name_u]Jay[/name_u]? Thanks!
I vastly prefer [name_m]Caleb[/name_m] to [name_m]Tommy[/name_m]! [name_m]Tommy[/name_m] [name_u]Jay[/name_u] sounds like a nickname for [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u], and I think if you’re going to use [name_m]Tommy[/name_m] as the FN I’d go with something more formal for a MN. I also just like [name_m]Caleb[/name_m] more than [name_m]Tommy[/name_m] in general and I think [name_m]Caleb[/name_m] [name_u]Jay[/name_u] sounds nice
I prefer [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] to [name_m]Caleb[/name_m], but since [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] is not an option, [name_m]Caleb[/name_m] gets my vote. I don’t like [name_m]Tommy[/name_m] as a full name and it makes me think of The Who.
[name_m]Caleb[/name_m] [name_u]Jay[/name_u]
[name_m]Tommy[/name_m] [name_u]Jay[/name_u] is actually quite adorable.
Aw I love [name_m]Tommy[/name_m] [name_u]Jay[/name_u]! [name_m]Caleb[/name_m] is also a solid choice, but [name_m]Tommy[/name_m] just sounds so friendly and lovely.
I’m not a fan of [name_m]Tommy[/name_m] as a full first name, so [name_m]Caleb[/name_m] gets my vote!
Think about it this way, one day, he will be grandpa [name_m]Caleb[/name_m] or grandpa [name_m]Tommy[/name_m]. It’s always better to give a child a full name and let him decide his own nicknames. You might think it’s cute, but he’s the one who has to put it on a resumé one day.
I get what youre saying and I guess that applies to [name_m]Tommy[/name_m] but I don’t see how that applies to [name_m]Caleb[/name_m].
[name_m]Thomas[/name_m] [name_u]Jay[/name_u]
[name_m]Caleb[/name_m] [name_u]Jay[/name_u]. I do NOT like [name_m]Tommy[/name_m] as a first name.
[name_m]Caleb[/name_m] [name_u]Jay[/name_u] looks and sounds much better imo.
[name_m]Caleb[/name_m] is a whole name, and that’s fine. If you want to call him [name_m]Tommy[/name_m] [name_u]Jay[/name_u], then name him [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] [name_u]Jay[/name_u], and give him the option to go by whatever he wants.
I personally prefer [name_m]Caleb[/name_m] over [name_m]Tommy[/name_m]!
I get what you’re saying but I don’t like the name [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]. It’s too common, hense hence the reason I put [name_m]Tommy[/name_m]. I think that when he’s older he could easily go by [name_m]Tom[/name_m] just like nearly every [name_m]Thomas[/name_m].
[name_m]Tommy[/name_m] [name_u]Jay[/name_u] is a bit too infantile for my liking. [name_m]Caleb[/name_m] [name_u]Jay[/name_u] gets my vote. Though, as many have previously stated [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] [name_u]Jay[/name_u] would be my choice if it were an option.
