[name]Do[/name] [name]Callum[/name] and [name]Gavin[/name] sound too similar for brothers? I really love both names but they have a similar feel to them. If you think they are too similar which is your favorite and why?

I actually know two brothers called [name]Callum[/name] and [name]Gavin[/name]. They have a third brother, [name]Duncan[/name]. I suppose they are rather matchy names: all have 2 syllables; the [name]Ca[/name]- and Ga-; [name]Callum[/name] and [name]Duncan[/name] both have a “c” sound and an “uh” sound; [name]Gavin[/name] and [name]Duncan[/name] both end in “n”. I know the similarities would really bother some people, but I actually think it’s fine. I would use the names as a sibset myself except I know the brothers so it would be a bit unimaginative and kind of weird…
[name]Callum[/name] and [name]Gavin[/name]… hmm. They do sound a bit similar but I think they could work, especially if [name]Callum[/name] went by [name]Cal[/name] sometimes. If you toss one, I would keep [name]Gavin[/name].

I don’t think they’re too similar to be brothers. They only barely sound alike.
If you decide to only keep one, I would keep [name]Gavin[/name].
Thanks ladies I am pretty sure I am going go ahead and keep both, I was just afraid they might sound too matchy, but that really disappears when I throw another name in there, like [name]Dean[/name], [name]Gavin[/name], and [name]Callum[/name]. I think that makes a big difference.
Your right! Anyway, I love both names. Although [name]Gavin[/name] is pretty popular, I have only met one and only heard of one other (the son in the Kony video). [name]Callum[/name] is always great. [name]Both[/name] seems modern but not trendy.
I think they make a great sib set. My favorite is [name]Callum[/name], hands down. I loved it when I was a girl and I also prefer [name]Callum[/name] b/c [name]Gavin[/name] sounds a little nerdy and just not as cool as [name]Callum[/name].
They seem a little strange together, mostly because of [name]Calvin[/name].
I love it! Not similar [name]IMO[/name].
I think they are fine together, and like you said once you add another name they are not similar at all.
