[name]Hi[/name] Berries, the hunt is still on for baby brother’s “perfect” name and my husband and I are starting to narrow down the list. [name]Calvin[/name] has come up several times and I need opinions! I like that it isn’t overly popular but feels familiar. It has a sort of quirkiness to it that I think could be super cute on a little boy. I am a fan of the nickname potential of [name]Cal[/name] and hubby loves [name]Vinny[/name], so its a win win. A lot of things to love about it, my only drawback is that I feel it might be perceived as a bit “nerdy”. Thoughts?
Great name! I don’t see it as being a ‘nerdy’ name at all!!
[name]Love[/name] it! I do see how the full name [name]Calvin[/name] has a certain quirky nerdiness to it (not unlike [name]Simon[/name], [name]Oliver[/name], and any number of names coming back in style)-- but the nn [name]Cal[/name] doesn’t seem nerdy at all.
I love [name]Calvin[/name] - I met a little one recently and the name struck me as so cute, not nerdy at all!
It always makes me think of a rough and tough cowboy type and certainly not a nerd! There is also the [name]Calvin[/name] Klein association to help take away some of the “nerdiness”. I love the idea of using [name]Vinny[/name] as a NN for [name]Calvin[/name] but I really love that! I think it is just a great name 
It is a great name. Very cool and cute. It was on my list, but got vetoed by husband, alas. I forget what his objection was.
