How do we feel about camellia as a first name for a girl?? Hubs doesn’t care for it too much but I love it

I think it’s a nice name! I see it as a more elaborate, princessy [name_f]Camilla[/name_f], with a bit of a fairy vibe due to the nature connection. I think I do like just [name_f]Camilla[/name_f] a bit more personally but [name_f]Camellia[/name_f] is a very pretty choice too.

[name_f]Camellia[/name_f] is such a beautiful plant and I love botanical names for people. It sounds inherently name-(for-a-person-)like too because of [name_f]Carmen[/name_f], [name_f]Carmel[/name_f], [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] etc. I love the nn options too – [name_m]Cal[/name_m], [name_f]Callie[/name_f], [name_m]Cam[/name_m], [name_m]Mel[/name_m], Melie, [name_f]Melia[/name_f], I could go on!

I love [name_f]Camellia[/name_f] too! I’ve hesitated to add it to my list because the one [name_f]Camellia[/name_f] I knew didn’t leave the greatest impression on me, but I’ve since grown to love the flowers and it’s such a pretty sounding name! I would love to meet a little [name_f]Camellia[/name_f] to change my mind. [name_f]Camellia[/name_f] does remind me a bit of [name_f]Azalea[/name_f] and [name_f]Zinnia[/name_f] - I don’t know if those would appeal more to him? But [name_f]Camellia[/name_f] is gorgeous and I would love to meet one!

I love [name_f]Camellia[/name_f], of course! It ebbs and flows on my lists and generally I prefer it as a middle, but I think it’s such a beautiful name. I like the fact that it’s an uncommon floral name, but has a familiarity because of the similar sounds to names like [name_f]Camilla[/name_f] and [name_f]Emilia[/name_f].
There’s so many nickname options, too. [name_f]My[/name_f] personal favorite is [name_f]Mellie[/name_f].

It’s pretty and elegant. I’d probably not use it myself but it’d be nice to see it become popular. It’s similar to [name_f]Camila[/name_f] and [name_f]Camille[/name_f] to me (more to [name_f]Camille[/name_f] in vibe I’d say) but I think it’s more floral and frilly, with nickname potential for [name_m]Mel[/name_m] that also sets it apart. I’ve considered it as a middle for my names list and used it for a character’s middle as well! (Her name was Elaina-Jane and it took place in the Victorian era.)

I knew a [name_f]Camellia[/name_f] in third grade and I always thought her name was so beautiful! It’s a lesser known flower name, which I really like
