Looking for thoughts on this. Main issue we’ve had in with running it by people is confusion in the pronunciation. Let me know your first instinct on how you’d pronounce. Personally I love it so much that I’m not too concerned if we/she has to correct people a few times, however my other half is concerned it will be a constant challenge. Loving the possibility of a formal name as well as [name_f]Cami[/name_f] or [name_f]Mila[/name_f] for nn so would love to hear your thoughts on the name in general too.

I would have pronounced it the same way as [name_f]Camilla[/name_f] but after looking it up it seems that it is really pronounced ka-MEE-la.
I agree, that there is the possibility of confusion but on the other hand, I can tell you from experience that this can happen with any name, no matter if it is a common one or not.
I pronounce it like ca-MEE-la, with emphasis on the ‘mi’ instead of ‘ca’. I only know how to correctly pronounce it because of [name_f]Camila[/name_f] Cabello, otherwise I’d have pronounced it like [name_f]CA[/name_f]-mill-ah. [name_f]Mila[/name_f] as a nickname for [name_f]Camila[/name_f] is adorable! If you love it, go for it.

I’d say it ka-MEE-la. I’d be prepared for people to mistake it for [name_f]Camilla[/name_f] (ka-MILL-a), but it is a lovely name with great nickname options.
Huh. I’ve never heard of the ca - mee - luh pronunciation. It makes me think of chameleon.
I prefer [name_f]Camilla[/name_f]. But if you love it, go for it, you’ll only have to correct people a few times. And if you just use her nn, it’s no issue.

Her dad’s name starts with C also so he’s really into the idea of them having the same initials, so we’re hoping to come up with a middle name starting with D if anyone has any cute suggestions to go with [name_f]Camila[/name_f]
