[name_f]My[/name_f] husband chose and loves the name [name_f]Camille[/name_f] and I have been searching for an unusual middle name to sort of…spice it up. I recently thought of [name_f]Moon[/name_f] and kind of fell in love. It will also result in her and I sharing the initials CMR, which I love.
It is a decision that I know with certainty my family would not approve of, because it is a little out there and also, we are Latin, and [name_f]Moon[/name_f] has absolutely no ring to it in Spanish – but it is one I would make proudly anyway, I think. I may love it that much. I love the idea of my little girl being my moon, mi luna - which she will me no matter the name we end up with.
So, what are your thoughts? Is it too unsual? Or does it come across as just silly?
[name_f]Camille[/name_f] is divine! But honestly, I think [name_f]Moon[/name_f] sounds awkward and , yes, silly. If you want an M name with [name_f]Camille[/name_f], how about:
I love it. [name_f]Moon[/name_f] and [name_f]Luna[/name_f] are two of my nicknames so maybe I’m biased here, lol. I also like the suggestion of [name_f]Camille[/name_f] [name_f]Minerva[/name_f].
[name_f]Camille[/name_f] [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f]
[name_f]Camille[/name_f] [name_u]Marian[/name_u] - I saw your other thread about [name_f]Camille[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f], which I like, but I also I want to suggest [name_f]Camille[/name_f] [name_u]Marian[/name_u].
[name_f]Camille[/name_f] [name_f]Magdalene[/name_f]
[name_f]Camille[/name_f] [name_f]Marcia[/name_f]/[name_f]Marciana[/name_f]
I love the middle name [name_f]Moon[/name_f]. It is an unusual and fun alternative to [name_f]Luna[/name_f]. [name_f]Camille[/name_f] [name_f]Moon[/name_f] is fantastic.
I think [name_f]Camille[/name_f] [name_f]Moon[/name_f] is sweet.
Though it doesn’t have the “namey” quality of [name_f]Luna[/name_f], it’s essentially the same thing / idea – [name_f]Luna[/name_f] is literally the word for moon in several languages. In the middle spot I think it works just fine and isn’t silly at all. I think it’s a great way to give [name_f]Camille[/name_f], which is a beautiful name, a little more pizzaz.
There is also a Korean actress with the named [name_f]Moon[/name_f].
I love [name_f]Camille[/name_f] but I don’t like the m’s in the [name_f]Camille[/name_f] [name_f]Moon[/name_f] combo. However, since the middle spot is the place to go a little wilder and you love [name_f]Moon[/name_f], then perhaps it’s the name for you.
I agree with what you said about [name_f]Camille[/name_f] vs [name_f]Camila[/name_f] in your other thread. [name_f]Camille[/name_f] is more sophisticated and sort of moonlit sounding. Normally I’d suggest a more melodic moon name, like [name_f]Luna[/name_f] or [name_f]Lucine[/name_f]/[name_f]Lucina[/name_f]. But with wanting an M name, and wanting something special and evocative, I find [name_f]Moon[/name_f] a good fit for you.
The flow of [name_f]Camila[/name_f] [name_f]Moon[/name_f] is a bit nicer, but if I were you I’d give that up in order to use the first name you like more.
I know a lot of moms use -moo as a nickname for kids with M names: [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] Moo, [name_u]Maxie[/name_u] Moo, etc., so [name_f]Millie[/name_f]-[name_f]Moon[/name_f] seems like a sweet thing to call her while she’s little.
