I grew up in [name_f]New[/name_f] [name_m]England[/name_m], which has a long tradition of surnames – usually the mother’s maiden name or other important family name – being given to a daughter.
[name_f][/name_f]I prefer [name_m]Cameron[/name_m] because it’s the Scots spelling of a Scottish name. [name_f][/name_f] [name_m]In[/name_m] fact, in the 70s I went to school with a girl named [name_m]Cameron[/name_m] and thought it was quite distinctive. I simply do not care for modern “feminizations” of traditional surnames, which fits because my own given name is a surname kept in its original form. [name_f][/name_f] To me, “Camryn” seems dated, coded the late 80s and 90s.
