We have two boys, [name_m]Cohen[/name_m] & [name_m]Leo[/name_m] and I love their names so much. Trouble is, we’re having a girl and I want something to match in perfectly and I can’t seem to land on the name that is just right.
We have some on the list like [name_f]Joni[/name_f], [name_f]Delphi[/name_f], [name_f]Nina[/name_f], [name_f]Emily[/name_f] and we like the middle name [name_f]Joy[/name_f] (it was my Mums middle name)
Any suggestions at all for our third and final beautiful baby are welcome!
[name_f]Naomi[/name_f] (I like how this keeps the O theme in)
[name_f]Miriam[/name_f]/[name_f]Miri[/name_f]
[name_f]Ruth[/name_f]
[name_f]Emmeline[/name_f]
[name_f]Willa[/name_f]
I’m trying to match with [name_m]Cohen[/name_m] and [name_m]Leo[/name_m] in hopes there might be a few you like.

[name_m]Cohen[/name_m] , [name_m]Leo[/name_m] and [name_f]Summer[/name_f]
Off this list I really like [name_u]Zuri[/name_u] , [name_u]Sage[/name_u] , [name_u]Dani[/name_u] , [name_f]Nola[/name_f] , [name_u]Ari[/name_u] , [name_f]Demi[/name_f] and if you’re feeling brave [name_u]Salem[/name_u] for you
I love [name_f]Nina[/name_f] [name_f]Joy[/name_f]!
[name_f]Joni[/name_f] seems more like a nn ([name_f]Joni[/name_f] [name_f]Joy[/name_f] - no!); not crazy about [name_f]Delphi[/name_f] (maybe [name_f]Delphine[/name_f], though) and [name_f]Emily[/name_f] is so 1980’s.
I also love Nina - it doesn’t have the O to connect it with her brothers, but maybe you like the distinction for your only girl and last little one?
With the exception of Emily, your style clearly tends towards punchy, two-syllable names. I think anything longer than that would seem out of place, at this point.
wittyusername103’s suggestion of Nola stood out to me as a great choice - long O, two syllables, a bit off the beaten path. What about Lola, or is the L too close to Leo? Also in that same vein, would you consider Nora or Nova? I’m all sorts of in love with the sweet, spunky name Nova Joy!
Thanks so much to all! [name_u]Love[/name_u] how you’ve all taken the time to help!!
I never realised we had ‘o’ sounds in both the boys names, and that really helps me with what ties them together and how to get the third name to tie in too!
Think that’s why I’ve been loving [name_f]Zoe[/name_f], but perhaps not loving the name [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] itself.
What other O names are there you guys like? [name_f]Nola[/name_f] is my [name_f]Nana[/name_f]'s name, [name_f]Nola[/name_f] Mimie - which I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u], but its always going to be her name…
You’ve absolutely nailed it!! I can’t see my own style so thank you so much for helping me out with it! [name_f]Nola[/name_f] is my [name_f]Nana[/name_f]'s name, so funny there’s so many suggestions for it, maybe I should jump on it! [name_f]Nora[/name_f] I keep going back to but there’s a saying ‘bloody nora’ which would always bother me. Gosh you’ve got a cracker with [name_f]Nova[/name_f] [name_f]Joy[/name_f] and I’d absolutely choose that one but my partner has just veto’d it!
Hehe of your picks, [name_f]Demi[/name_f] is my Neice, [name_f]Nola[/name_f] is my [name_f]Nana[/name_f] Great list thank you have added [name_u]Eden[/name_u] to the list!
I’m so glad to hear you like [name_f]Nova[/name_f] [name_f]Joy[/name_f]! Maybe keep it in your back pocket in case your partner has a change of heart once she’s here?
I think [name_f]Nola[/name_f] would be a great choice for you, especially now that you’ve mentioned it could be a possible honor name. I’m sure your [name_f]Nana[/name_f] would be thrilled! If you really like [name_f]Nova[/name_f] [name_f]Joy[/name_f] but can’t get your partner on board, I think [name_f]Nola[/name_f] [name_f]Joy[/name_f] is about as close as a compromise as you could get!
Keeping in mind the long O and two-syllables, I came up with these:
[name_f]Lola[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosa[/name_f]
[name_u]Simone[/name_u]
[name_u]Shiloh[/name_u]
[name_f]Willow[/name_f]
[name_f]Cora[/name_f]
[name_f]Margot[/name_f]
[name_f]Sophie[/name_f]
Personally, I like [name_f]Rosa[/name_f] [name_f]Joy[/name_f] the best for you out of those choices - [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] is also a wonderful option, but could just as easily work as her nickname. [name_f]Cora[/name_f] [name_f]Joy[/name_f] is also lovely if you don’t mind a second C name and a slight deviation from the long O. Sophie/Sofie is a personal fave of mine and pairs nicely with Joy, but I think the first names ending in -a really uplift the middle and make it shine. If I had to put it to a vote, though, I think you’ve got a ringer with [name_f]Nola[/name_f] [name_f]Joy[/name_f]
If yourv baby is due over the holidays what about [name_f]Noelle[/name_f]? Or [name_f]Noella[/name_f]?
Contining with your ‘O’ theme:
[name_f]Olivia[/name_f]
[name_f]Ottiline[/name_f]
[name_f]Odile[/name_f]
It’s my last name and tbh it kind of annoys me to see it randomly as a first name. It has a whole history behind it and I find it awkward when people just use it cause it sounds nice.
If the name has significance to someone I understand. Otherwise I find it obnoxious, sorry. That’s just my opinion.
