Thanks for the votes! Any other opinions?
I really like [name]Elisabeth[/name], but you could use a different form of it like [name]Elspeth[/name] or [name]Elisabetta[/name].
I know of three Elsies, all of whom have the name as a standalone.
I think [name]Eloise[/name] nn [name]Elsie[/name] would be great. I love the suggestion of [name]Elspeth[/name].
I prefer it as a nickname, but I just generally prefer longer names that have cute nicknames (hence my kids [name]Alexander[/name] = [name]Xander[/name], [name]Madelyn[/name] = [name]Maddie[/name], and [name]Genevieve[/name] = well…she was supposed to be [name]Vivi[/name] but calls herself GV so that seems to be what is sticking!).
[name]Elsie[/name] is darling though. If we keep [name]Elisabeth[/name] on our short list, [name]Elsie[/name] is definitely a top contender for the nickname!
Thanks everyone! I’m thinking I should start giving [name]Elizabeth[/name] more of a chance!
I love [name]Elsie[/name]! I am a firm believer in naming a child what she will be called. [name]Elsie[/name] is a name that stands alone just fine and will age well. If you want a longer form, I would use [name]Elsa[/name].
