Can Evening work as a name?

We really like [name_f]Evie[/name_f] for baby, suggested by my daughter, but are struggling to find the perfect formal name. Another berry suggested [name_f]Evening[/name_f] which I loved the sound and imagery of, but am wondering if it’s too much/ridiculous to others. Other options we are considering are [name_f]Eve[/name_f], [name_f]Eva[/name_f] and [name_f]Neve[/name_f].

I like it in theory, but it’s not a name I could take seriously as an adult.

One thing someone suggested to me when I was pregnant was order coffee under the names I liked. It might sound stupid, but how do you feel introducing yourself as that name? And if you care about others reactions you can watch them when you say it.

It’s not an awful name though, so if you really love it, use it! I really like [name_f]Eve[/name_f] though, followed by [name_f]Neve[/name_f].

I agree with the above. It’s nice in theory…but it does have that sort of burlesque-star feel to it to me.
If you love [name_f]Eve[/name_f], why not just use that on its own?

I think it comes off silly, sorry.

I agree with the previous posters.

I love it in theory, but i cant imagine it as a first name. It sounds like it belongs to a barbie princess.

I’m not a fan of [name_f]Evening[/name_f], I think it takes away from [name_f]Evie[/name_f] tbh. I think there are better ‘longer’ alternatives or even [name_f]Evie[/name_f] on it’s own is beautiful as a stand alone name.

I think you should try zpk’s experiment. I like it! I wouldn’t want to introduce myself as [name_f]Evening[/name_f], though.

[name_f]Evening[/name_f] is pretty. It actually goes much better in a sibset with your other children than a “glorious” name like [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] or [name_f]Eve[/name_f] would. Also, Have you considered [name_f]Ivanna[/name_f]? It has the [name_f]Evie[/name_f] sound and I’m not sure if anyone suggested it on your previous thread.
An Idea: Maybe you could hyphen it and make the whole name [name_f]Evening[/name_f]-[name_f]Primrose[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f]. [name_f]Evening[/name_f] [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] is a flower name.

Theoretically it could, but there are so many nice “[name_f]Eve[/name_f]” names out there I like a lot better. I love [name_f]Eva[/name_f]

I love the idea of [name_f]Evening[/name_f] as a name, but most people would find it too weird and not like being named this. I think it could work as a middle name, but as a name to use day to day it could be a source of awkwardness and embarrassment.
