Can I have a Violet and a Rose?

So my husband and I have really been struggling with finding a name for our daughter, due in [name_f]April[/name_f]. Our other children are [name_m]Ben[/name_m] and [name_f]Violet[/name_f]. We have been planning on using [name_f]Rose[/name_f] as a middle name after my husband’s grandmother who passed away last year. We cannot think of a first name that we absolutely love, though there are several we like. Now I’m starting to think that [name_f]Rose[/name_f] would make a great first name instead, but is it too much to have a [name_f]Rose[/name_f] when we already have a [name_f]Violet[/name_f]. I feel like it sounds silly. What do you all think? Here are the other names that are in the ring, all with middle name [name_f]Rose[/name_f]:

[name_f]Maya[/name_f]
[name_f]Ada[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f]
[name_f]Fiona[/name_f]
[name_f]Keira[/name_f]
[name_f]Miranda[/name_f]
[name_f]Tessa[/name_f]
[name_f]Delia[/name_f]

Thanks in advance for your opinions!!

Congrats! [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] would be my pick, also [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] and [name_f]Ada[/name_f] seem like a nice fit with siblings to me. [name_f]Violet[/name_f] and [name_f]Rose[/name_f] would be themey, but personally I think it’s not a big deal, I love [name_f]Rose[/name_f]! They sound very different from each other so the theme doesn’t seem overly cutesy in my opinion. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you plan in having other children? If you had another daughter would you feel stuck? Have you considered using another [name_f]Rose[/name_f] name? [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f], [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] etc… Good luck!

[name_f]Violet[/name_f] and [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is kinda themey, but its cute and not that big of a deal. I personally love both names. They don’t have similar sounds, so that helps. Out of your names, I like [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] and [name_f]Delia[/name_f].

If you think that it’s silly yourself, it might be best to not go with [name_f]Rose[/name_f]. I really love [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] and [name_f]Ada[/name_f] with [name_m]Ben[/name_m] and [name_f]Violet[/name_f].

Like someone said, it does follow a theme but it’s cute and I wouldn’t call it a big deal. I’d mention how the other sibling misses out on the theme, but as [name_m]Ben[/name_m]'s a boy I think it’s safe (I know people who theme only one gender). However, my middle name is [name_f]Rose[/name_f] after my grandmother so I have to go for that! People usually class [name_f]Rose[/name_f] as a filler, but more often than not it is an honour name.

Out of your names, I think that [name_m]Ben[/name_m], [name_f]Violet[/name_f] and [name_f]Keira[/name_f]/[name_f]Lucy[/name_f]/[name_f]Maya[/name_f] go well. I really love [name_f]Keira[/name_f] (can’t use it as it’s my sister’s name) and I think [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] and [name_f]Maya[/name_f] are sweet and delicate like [name_f]Violet[/name_f]. I also love [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] and [name_f]Maya[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] as combos, as well as [name_f]Keira[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]. Are you pronouncing [name_f]Maya[/name_f] as my-ah or may-ah? If it’s the latter, I love it that tiny bit more.

I don’t really think it’s silly. They may be flower names but both are established names as well. Maybe use a [name_f]Rose[/name_f] variation to offset it some? [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f], [name_f]Rosie[/name_f], [name_f]Rosemund[/name_f]/[name_f]Rosemond[/name_f], etc.

[name_f]Maya[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] and [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] would be awesome with [name_m]Ben[/name_m] and [name_f]Violet[/name_f].

I know three sisters named [name_f]Daphne[/name_f], [name_f]Iris[/name_f], and [name_f]Violet[/name_f] all of which are flowers! ([name_f]Daphne[/name_f] means laurel). No one bats an eye at it, in fact everyone thinks it’s really cute. I like [name_f]Violet[/name_f] and [name_f]Rose[/name_f] as sisters but I also like [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], [name_f]Ada[/name_f], [name_f]Tessa[/name_f], and [name_f]Maya[/name_f] with the sibset.

I think [name_f]Rose[/name_f] and [name_f]Violet[/name_f] sound gorgeous together.

Personally I think it’s fine, it wouldn’t be like you’ve got six daughters all with flower names, that I would personally find too much.

I do also love [name_f]Ada[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] and [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f], with [name_m]Ben[/name_m] and [name_f]Violet[/name_f].

[name_f]Rose[/name_f] would work!
If you don’t think it does
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is cute with [name_f]Violet[/name_f] and [name_m]Ben[/name_m] too

I don’t think it’s too much to have a [name_f]Violet[/name_f] and a [name_f]Rose[/name_f]. I think it will be a nice thing for them to have in common, actually. They are both beautiful names in their own right as well. And I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] as a first name. I feel like it is underused as a first and overused as a middle.

Thank you all so much for the feedback! It makes me feel a lot better about using [name_f]Rose[/name_f]!

[name_f]Violet[/name_f] & [name_f]Rose[/name_f] are probably the only two flower names that can go together without being corny imo. Bc [name_f]Violet[/name_f] & [name_f]Rose[/name_f] are soo well established as names, you almost forget (especially with [name_f]Rose[/name_f] for me) that they are flowers as well. You could also alter [name_f]Rose[/name_f] to [name_f]Rosa[/name_f], [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f], [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] etc. From your list of names, I think [name_f]Violet[/name_f] goes best with:

[name_f]Lucy[/name_f]
[name_f]Fiona[/name_f]
[name_f]Tessa[/name_f]
[name_f]Delia[/name_f]

[name_f]Violet[/name_f] & [name_f]Delia[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] would be really cute

Roses are red, violets are blue… don’t do it. Kids are mean.

[name_f]Rose[/name_f] and [name_f]Violet[/name_f] does sound silly to me. I like all of the names you listed more than [name_f]Rose[/name_f], honestly.
