Can it be for girls, too?

So recently I’ve seen the name [name]Zachalie[/name], the French form of [name]Zachary[/name]. My question: Does it sound girly enough to be used as a girl’s name? I mean, it sounds terribly feminine and if boys’ parents don’t really use it, why can’t girls? Zackie is a cute, fresh spin on [name]Jackie[/name] and the -alie ending, seen in [name]Natalie[/name] and simply as the nn [name]Allie[/name], screams girl. WDYT?

I think [name]Zachalie[/name] looks like a trendee way to try to feminize [name]Zachary[/name]. And when I say it, it sounds like “Exactly”, but with out the Eh sound, and duller t.
I wouldn’t try to use it on a boy or girl.

I would imagine that any small child with this name would have to repeat it multiple times to anyone who asked her name. But then I have a [name]Beatrix[/name] who is constantly mistaken for [name]Beatrice[/name], and that didn’t stop me from naming her that.

I’m not a fan at all. I don’t think it sounds feminine and like the PP said, it sounds like a trendy version of [name]Zachary[/name].

Exactly what east93 said. [name]Don[/name]'t do it.

What she said.

Wow, okay! So no one likes [name]Zachalie[/name]. Got it.

I personally don’t like it, but it’s not about what we like, its about your choices

I love your picture by the way!! So cute!

Nope sorry… its pretty bad

Is this a typo? I’ve never met a French kid named [name]Zachalie[/name] -although I have met some Zacharies.

If it’s not a typo on NB, then that’s what EVERYONE is going to ask when your kid spells their name

I’m not a fan. Plus, this seems like a pandora’s box of sorts – lots of French male names sound feminine. Although, I suppose if your daughter is never going to go to [name]France[/name], or meet anybody French, maybe it’s not a problem.
