I love the name Mcbeth as a girls name but I don’t know if it would work.
if so what would be a cute middle name?
I think it would have to be [name_m]Macbeth[/name_m] if it was going to work… not that I think it would. Otherwise it sounds like something that comes in a happy meal.
I personally don’t like the Mc- name beginning [name_m]Mac[/name_m] would work better, I think it works reminds me of the book/play something in literature is named [name_m]Macbeth[/name_m] I suck at remembering
Macbeth is a character in [name_m]Shakespeare[/name_m]’s play titled The Tragedy of [name_m]Macbeth[/name_m] and it’s really a downer - a lot of death and gore. Most high schoolers have to read it in the US. Maybe dark fictitious characters’ names are your style but if not, I would take that cultural reference into consideration.
I thought this was the inspiration for this question!
yeah, when I first heard it I thought about the play and then murder…maybe not the best name for an actual person
The [name_m]Shakespeare[/name_m] connection does not stop people from loving the name [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f]
that is true, but I first heard it in the song by The Lumineers, and that’s when I started liking it.
Yeah, not many songs about [name_m]Macbeth[/name_m] that’s for sure!
No… I don’t think it can be a name. Sorry.
Too associated with [name_m]Macbeth[/name_m].
yeah I know, I really like the story [name_m]Macbeth[/name_m] that’s why I love that name
Then, I find the story too tragic to use as a name.
I don’t think you could get away with Mcbeth, it would have to [name_m]Macbeth[/name_m] (largely because that’s what everyone would hear it as, and largely because the mcb just looks a little like a typo). I think it’s cute, but it’s so tied to The Scottish Play, that everyone would assume you named her for it. If you don’t mind that, I think it’s very sweet.
Fair enough - [name_m]Macbeth[/name_m] slaps. As long as you knew you were naming her for it and were okay with that, I think it’s lovely.
I just think of [name_m]Macbeth[/name_m] from [name_m]Shakespeare[/name_m]
If I’d use it, then [name_m]Macbeth[/name_m]. But it’s not so appealing to me, sorry.
I’d say no. The association with the play is too negative. [name_m]Macbeth[/name_m] was an evil character.
I actually know a little girl with Mc/Macbeth (can’t remember the exact spelling) as a middle name — it’s a family surname.
I think it works best in the middle. It’s really a very heavy association for a first name, and quite widely known.
I think it would make a cute middle
the sound is nice, but i feel it might be a little hard to wear in real life.
have you considered [name_f]Hecate[/name_f] as a nod to the play?
