We find out if it’s a boy or girl in less than 2 weeks. I know it’s not technically a big deal and that we have time (and that it may be a boy!), but I cannot for the life of me find a girl name that is “right.”
My DD is [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Elaine[/name_f]. I just “knew” my daughter would be [name_f]Violet[/name_f].
Boy name picked out is [name_m]Declan[/name_m] [name_m]Elijah[/name_m].
Middle will likely be [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] because we both like this name, but it’s too common for us to put it as first.
Looking for something not overly popular in southern US, prefer 2 syllables, no nicknames, not ending in “-ee” sound.
Girls names we have considered:
[name_f]Emilia[/name_f] - I keep coming back to it but just worry so much about confusion with [name_f]Amelia[/name_f].
[name_f]Lila[/name_f] - my grandmothers name. I like it but don’t love it and it seems like to much L with [name_f]Violet[/name_f]
[name_f]Nora[/name_f] - like this one, but someone I work closely with is also pregnant and we are like 2 months apart and she has chosen this name
[name_f]Cora[/name_f] - just dont like it 🤷”*♀”
[name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] - DH doesn’t like
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] - DH doesn’t like
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] - husband really likes, but I can’t get
around it. Seems too much like a nick name and I try to avoid names that end in “-ee” bc our last name ends in y/that sound
[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f]- meh
And many more.
Help me out!
