For years I’ve loved the name [name_f]Felicity[/name_f]. But if I ever have a daughter her middle name will be [name_f]Joy[/name_f]. Is [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] [name_f]Joy[/name_f] too much? Too redundant? This has been on my mind for a long time and I’d like other’s opinions.
[name_m]Hi[/name_m]
I can definitely see where you’re coming from.
But I vote with “go with your heart”!
Not many people are going to know someone’s middle name too often so I don’t see it being a common occurance.
The name is too pretty to not use
100 percent agree!
I agree with PPs, and if it’s what you love and want to use, go for it. What better redundancy than a name that’s doubly joyous and happy? It’s a lovely, bubbly, sparkly combo and the double “happy” meaning looks and feels like a good omen imo.
Ohhh but it’s sooo cute! Felicity Joy is lovely. I say go for it.
I think it’s fine! [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] and [name_f]Joy[/name_f] are both very established as names, so that I don’t think people’s first thought will automatically be the words. [name_u]Happy[/name_u] [name_f]Joy[/name_f] would be too much, but [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] [name_f]Joy[/name_f] is bright and lovely!
[name_f]Felicity[/name_f] can mean “good fortune” so if you take that meaning, the meaning wouldn’t feel too repetitive. Equally, [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] and [name_f]Joy[/name_f] are so namey that I think you could get away with it
I love [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] joy !! It’s so sweet and bright
I think [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] [name_f]Joy[/name_f] is really cute! I see what you mean about the meanings being redundant, but I think most people won’t know the meaning of [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] and most people won’t know her middle name. I like it!
I think they’re sweet together and not too much at all. However, you could also do a double middle and split them up, so it would be even less of an issue. Using another name that is not a word might help. For instance [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_f]Joy[/name_f]. [name_u]Or[/name_u] [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] [name_f]Joy[/name_f].
Felicity Joy is so lovely, and I don’t think the double meaning makes it unusable! Felicity is seen primarily as a name, so not too many would even notice.
felicity joy is so lovely; i don’t think it’s too much at all
I love [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] [name_f]Joy[/name_f] so gorgeous! Definitely not to much I would definitely go with it.
I think it’s great, no worse than Hannah Grace which is also lovely!
I think happiness and joy are technically differing emotions so [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] [name_f]Joy[/name_f] isn’t too much plus it sounds nice.
