Can we use the name Edison? Opinions please!

We are due to have our baby boy any day and I don’t know what to do. Husband (and I) loves the name [name]Edison[/name]. I had ruled it out since our other child is named [name]Sawyer[/name]. I am afraid everyone will make fun of the “[name]Tom[/name]” [name]Sawyer[/name] and “[name]Thomas[/name]” [name]Edison[/name] thing. My husband doesn’t think so and when I posted on here a while ago people were more on my husband’s side than mine. Am I over thinking this or am I right that the two names together are too much?? Opinions please!!!

Personally I feel like [name]Sawyer[/name] and [name]Edison[/name] are fine for siblings. I don’t think many people dig into sib-sets outside of name-sites.

[name]Sawyer[/name] and [name]Edison[/name] work well together. I don’t think anyone will make the [name]Tom[/name] association between the two names.

I didn’t think that. I love it :). Go for it!!!

I think that you are over thinking the “[name]Tom[/name]/[name]Thomas[/name]” thing because kids don’t really get teased for names past elementary school (at my schools there was no name teasing) unless it is for something vaguely dirty (ex: three Jacks in one class and one is [name]Jack[/name] S.) which stops being funny after seventh grade. Most kids in elemtary school wouldn’t figure out the connection and probably won’t know the name of you children’s siblings. I think you have nothing to worry about and should go with [name]Edison[/name] if you love it

[name]Sawyer[/name], for most people, is the hot Southern scoundrel from Lost (and, increasingly, the baby just down the street). I don’t think the [name]Tom[/name] [name]Sawyer[/name] association is in any way dominant.

[name]Edison[/name] = [name]Thomas[/name] [name]Edison[/name], and the power company that’s named after him, but what’s so bad about that?

The names are complimentary in style without repeating each other. It’s a good choice.

[name]Sawyer[/name] and [name]Edison[/name] are great together. I highly doubt that anyone outside of a name nerd community would make the [name]Tom[/name]/[name]Thomas[/name] association you mentioned. [name]How[/name] is that bad anyway?

I agree, [name]Sawyer[/name] and [name]Edison[/name] are great together! When I saw your post, I had know idea what it could possibly be about, and now that I know, I don’t think anyone would make the association!

Good luck!

Thanks all for your thoughts! I just want to make sure that it isn’t going to be a huge deal before we go with the name. [name]Don[/name]'t want to regret it.
