also, if you have a sec - what are your thoughts on emerson for a girl?

[name]Both[/name] [name]Anna[/name] [name]Rose[/name] and [name]Madeline[/name] [name]Brooke[/name] are lovely (though I’ve a preference for spelling [name]Madeleine[/name] the French way). I think it depends on your surname, if it’s short then [name]Madeline[/name] would probably look better, and if it’s longer go with [name]Anna[/name]. Though I think [name]Anna[/name] edges my vote.

thank you! and what about the spelling madelyn? too trendy - ruins the “classic-ness” of it?

I voted for [name]Anna[/name] [name]Rose[/name], really pretty! Def. prefer [name]Madeline[/name] over [name]Emerson[/name], and def. prefer spelling [name]Madeline[/name]. Good luck:)

I love love love [name]Emerson[/name] for a girl!

really! i love emerson too and a lot of people are telling me no! they are saying its a boys name and that its too trendy? i am thinking its girly - especially the nicknames and i dont hear many around where i live. these girl names are tough!!! :)thank you so much for your advice!

I voted for [name]Madeline[/name] [name]Brooke[/name]. [name]Anna[/name] [name]Rose[/name] feels short and lacks something for me. I am not a fan of -son names for girls unless they’re family names. [name]Just[/name] because a name has a feminine nickname doesn’t make it a girl’s name. [name]Anthony[/name] could shorten to [name]Annie[/name] and [name]Adam[/name] could shorten to [name]Addie[/name]. Does this make [name]Anthony[/name] and [name]Adam[/name] girls’ names?

1 [name]Anna[/name] [name]Rose[/name] - you cannot go wrong with two classics. [name]Lovely[/name] combo!
2 [name]Madeline[/name] [name]Brooke[/name] - Although I prefer the French spelling [name]Madeleine[/name], I do like [name]Madeline[/name]. I find [name]Brooke[/name] very harsh sounding.
3 [name]Emerson[/name] [name]Brooke[/name] - I’ve seen [name]Emerson[/name] and all of its strange spellings ([name]Emersyn[/name],Emmersin etc…) enough so I don’t really like this name for either gender anymore. It just doesn’t seem fresh anymore and is very trendy.

thank you guys so much! is brooke not the best with madeline? i need a B - can you suggest anything else with madeline that you think sounds better than brooke if you arent crazy about brooke?

and also what about madelyn spelled with a y - ‘ine’ much better?

i love love love emerson. it’s not trendy with my friends–i know emerson’s ranging in age from their 30s to babies. i like the flexibility it gives her as she grows up—and i think emerson will look great on a business card someday!

your other choices are nice, too. i like brooke as a mn–but if you want some other b-s, maybe: beth, bay, blythe, bryn–i used to love blue as a middle–but it’s gotten too hollywood for me.

good luck.

I love [name]Emerson[/name] but really dislike [name]Brooke[/name] as a middle for it. What about [name]Emerson[/name] [name]Blanche[/name], or [name]Blythe[/name] as a middle like pp suggested?

hi guys any more opinions?

I voted for [name]Emerson[/name], though I like [name]Emerson[/name] [name]Rose[/name] better than [name]Emerson[/name] [name]Brooke[/name]. I love [name]Emerson[/name] for a girl, but wasn’t able to convince DH. That’s why we ended up with [name]Madelaine[/name]

I love [name]Emerson[/name] and it is all girl for me, I also like [name]Brooke[/name]. I voted for [name]Madeline[/name] but I much prefer the spelling and pronounciation of [name]Madelyn[/name].

I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Emerson[/name] on a girl! A few years ago I was convinced my first little girl would be [name]Emerson[/name] FOR SURE! But I was going to spell it [name]Emersyn[/name] (Im not one that cares about changing spelling- especially if it takes a unisex and makes it more feminine- but I know most on here hate that)

I cant use it because her nn would end up being [name]Emme[/name]- and 2 years ago my cousin named her little girl [name]Emmy[/name] [name]Brooke[/name]… which is actually a PERFECT story for you, since your little girl would be [name]Emerson[/name] [name]Brooke[/name]. This might help because everyone loves [name]Emmy[/name] [name]Brooke[/name]'s name. So maybe that can give you more confidence that it does translate well in the real world!

I vote [name]Madeline[/name] Beooke but I like the middle names [name]Belle[/name] and [name]Briar[/name] better that [name]Brooke[/name].

[name]Anna[/name] [name]Rose[/name] is perfect, timeless, just gorgeous! My second choice is [name]Madeline[/name]. I love [name]Madeline[/name] (spelled this way)…
[name]Madeline[/name] [name]Beatrice[/name]
[name]Madeline[/name] [name]Brynn[/name]
[name]Madeline[/name] [name]Belle[/name]
[name]Madeline[/name] [name]Blythe[/name]
Any of those would be lovely. I am not opposed to [name]Madeline[/name] [name]Brooke[/name], though it would depend on the last name. [name]Emerson[/name] just does not share the timesless classic feeling of either [name]Anna[/name] or [name]Madeline[/name] [name]IMO[/name].
