Husband and I finally thought of a name we kinda like a lot. This literally just happened a few hours ago so I still need to wake up tomorrow and see if I’m still fond of it. In the mean time what do you guys think of [name_m]Canaan[/name_m]? It’s a little quirkier than what I usually like but I have never heard it before.

A baby in my church named [name_m]Canaan[/name_m] got baptized last month! I like it.
I don’t love it but it could grow on me. I’ve never actually met anyone with the name so maybe that’s why it doesn’t sound right to me. It could work though. And [name_m]Robert[/name_m] works with it. Definitely a very strong name.
I love the name [name_m]Canaan[/name_m]! It is so handsome and unusual, while sounding very accessible because it has similar sounds to more well known names. I think this name could be a winner!

I adore this name! It’s so strong and I really like the double A’s in the name. It’s definitely unusual but not hard to pronounce. I really like [name_m]Robert[/name_m] as the middle name. It grounds [name_m]Canaan[/name_m] a lot without having a conflicting sound in terms of style.
I like fine. I don’t love it.
This is one of those names that I so wish I liked but I just can’t.
All I can think of is the [name_m]Canaan[/name_m] Dog and how it just sounds like someone with a thick southern accent mispronouncing canine or cannon.

I prefer the look of [name_m]Canaan[/name_m] over the sound, but I do think it’s a cool name and [name_m]Canaan[/name_m] [name_m]Robert[/name_m] is a lovely combo, with classic, solid [name_m]Robert[/name_m] balancing out the more unusual first name.

im embarrassed to admit when i first saw the name I thought it was pronounced cannon. Come to find out it’s kay-nen. Now we are debating between calling him canaan and cannon lol
