Hubby likes [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] (or alternate spelling) and I like [name_f]Harlow[/name_f]. Daughter’s name is [name_f]Preslee[/name_f]. Would love some opinions as we are not sharing with friends and family to avoid unwanted opinions that could ruin a name we love. We have such a hard time coming up with names, which is why our daughter’s name is half of each of our names ([name_m]Preston[/name_m] and Shalee). Other names I have considered include [name_f]Emberly[/name_f], Hadelynn, [name_u]Hartley[/name_u], [name_u]Emerson[/name_u], [name_f]Everleigh[/name_f], Everlynn, Kambree, [name_u]Avery[/name_u], [name_u]Waverly[/name_u]. Last name starts with S so don’t want any names ending in the S sound. Thanks!

Have you considered [name_u]Hadley[/name_u] or [name_u]Everly[/name_u]?
I like the suggestion of [name_u]Hadley[/name_u]. [name_u]Henley[/name_u] maybe, or [name_f]Mamie[/name_f]? Maebry is another option.

[name_u]Hadley[/name_u] is cute except we knew someone with that last name and have kind of a negative thought when we hear it so unfortunately that one doesn’t work. Hate it when that happens!

From your new short list, I love [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] and [name_u]Everly[/name_u]. I am with your husband on [name_f]Harlow[/name_f] though. The main reason I don’t like it is because it’s so similar to the word harlot, and I think that’s a heavy burden to put on a little girl. Especially because harlot kind of looks like the t might be silent, so it’s easy to mispronounce as harlo, making it even closer to [name_f]Harlow[/name_f] than it already is.
I love Harlowe but my second choice from your list would be [name_u]Emerson[/name_u], and I think [name_u]Emerson[/name_u] and [name_f]Preslee[/name_f] sound great as a sib set.

From your list, I really like [name_f]Emberly[/name_f], [name_u]Hartley[/name_u], and [name_u]Emerson[/name_u] - all lovely, spunky names. I don’t think [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] sits well with [name_f]Preslee[/name_f], but that may not be an issue for you depending on how much you want your sibset to be in the same style. I like these names (above) slightly better than [name_f]Harlow[/name_f]. They are more feminine to the ear.

Any suggestions when we are both stubborn and stuck on our picks but don’t agree on the same one? I am still stuck with [name_f]Harlow[/name_f]. He is still stuck on Maizee (undecided on spelling but he wants it with a Z). We both like [name_u]Emerson[/name_u] but don’t think it’s “the one.” This kid just might be nameless!
I was thinking of [name_u]Shiloh[/name_u]. It has the “o” sound of [name_f]Harlow[/name_f], but it’s softer like [name_f]Maisie[/name_f]. It seems like it might work as a nice compromise. [name_u]Shiloh[/name_u] and [name_f]Preslee[/name_f] sound like the names of sisters.
Hubby says [name_u]Shiloh[/name_u] reminds him too much of a dog name. For some reason he also thinks of [name_f]Harlow[/name_f] as a dog name. [name_f]May[/name_f] be because they rhyme and we read that [name_u]Shiloh[/name_u] book as kids. Ugh…back to square one! I seriously don’t think we can name this little girl!
